Booked a one night stay to extend another hotel stay close by so we could do the Churnet Valley rail trip. Had a comfortable stay, everything very clean & comfortable. Was a little disconcerted to find we were actually staying in the house with the owner, an unknown experience for us. Julie was very friendly & helpful. Really appreciated the cold bottles of water we were given and the brunch bar.

The property is very well finished and was clean and welcoming. Our room was nicely, if sparsely, furnished. We were surprised there was no kettle for drink making, but Julie did make us hot drinks when ever we needed. Could have done with a shaving mirror in the bathroom. On the whole a friendly and comfortable stay. Thanks Julie.
