I came back and am booked to come back again! Feel really welcome: my dog was immediately drawn in by Bella, the new addition to the Griffin household. It's the atmosphere here, the good quality food, the Battle of Britain ale, good dog-walking nearby, then team running the place, their location in the middle of Norfolk - great breakfast (thanks Charlotte), cooked to order. Rather than list superlatives, I should just recommend that you go and try them out - very good value for money, dog friendly!

The hotel is quirky, old coach inn. The staff were lovely and the room was as expected. We stayed in room 3 with the four poster bed. The only things that let the place down was the parking, if you parked at the back, there was only about 3 spaces and you need to fit through a tight gap to get to it. There is parking on the road but only free from 6pm Saturday night to Monday morning. The host did not mention that they had a party on the evening we stayed until we checked in. Although the music did stop at 11pm. Gutted that we didn't get a chance to sit in the pub area in the evening as it was a unique space. The room was great but the heating did not work and it got quite cold, the window latch was faulty, so couldn't be locked safely. Thankfully the room wasn't for families. The toilet cistern was very loud every time you flushed the toilet. The toilet door needed adjusting as it was hard to close. The four poster bed looked like it wasn't held together well. Was generally clean.The breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked but was let down by the sticky table that we sat at, our glasses and plates were stuck to the table. The atmosphere was great, especially the resident dog who was so lovely. Found out apparently the place was haunted and there was a lovely great big church right next door and was a lovely view from the bedroom. I would stay there again purely for it's character. Price was also reasonable, £94.00 for a night in a room with a four poster bed and open fireplace.

What's not to like? Fabulous place, great family atmosphere about the place. Great food, good beer, nice room, dog friendly, Limited parking, but right in the middle of town in the middle of Norfolk. Sensible location for anyone working in the area, close to the A11. Good dog walking from the pub. Daniel and his team (overseen by Mum) are very welcoming, as is the pub - it'll wrap it's warm and welcoming arms around you - here you can relax and feel at home and really look forward to returning soon.

A nice old pub with a great selection of beers and English breakfast included. The only thing that let it down was the bathroom had a bad smell of old urine. Give the place a deep clean and it would make a huge difference.

The shower doors didn't shut and a major leak from the frame to the wall the toilet had a stained bowl ask for a chicken meal with saulted potatoes and it came with chips tried 2 beers and both was off breakfast was not what I expected asked for a juice and got cordial and water won't be staying again

Staff were excellent and friendly. Pub was welcoming and inviting. Breakfast cooked to order and very nice. Now for the room. No5 a bit dated but spacious. Bed was very firm but could feel every spring in the mattress. Shower pressure abysmal and scalding to start. Had to use a lot of force just to get the dial round to get the cold water flowing and still low pressure. Some say adds character, I’d say it lacked comfort.

Had previously read the reviews for the hotel and decided to give it a go. On arrival friendly welcoming. Got to room, smelt a bit of smoke. TV the size of a small PC monitor. Outside light on all night lighting up the room even with curtains closed. In the morning no heating until 0645. Tried to have a hot shower, no hot water despite running water for 5 minutes.

Good old fashioned pub hotel. Food is proper pub grub, wholesome and fresh. Oled world build, floors are uneven but give character. My go to place when in the area.

Good breakfast but otherwise disappointing. Had it been a £65 a night offer I would have considered it fair but £95 should produce a better offer. The room was tired and there were possible safety issues with electrical cables routed around and over the (very hot) radiator.

Room was fine but the water pressure is quite bad. You can hear your neighbors easily.

An amazing fresh home cooked breakfast with local produce, excellent menu. Limited parking to the side of the hotel, plenty of street parking just outside.

The hotel was a very old coaching house so lots of beams and features. Bedrooms were good nice size but our bed was hard so by the time we left it was ok. Shower really only for very very small people. Food fantastic very good portions and hot at all times. Staff very friendly and helpful. It does have parking but very small entrance and spaces only for about 4 cars. We had an issue with the door lock to our room staff could open it but we had trouble couldn’t get in or out had really be forceful. Decided we wouldn’t stay again but would probably go there for food. The hotel is on a one way street but traffic wasn’t a problem during the night. Some of the clientele were interesting but it looks like it is the only pub in the town. Very dog friendly too.

I booked this hotel on the premise it was rated as being excellent. It is not. It’s one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in for service. We booked in and given a key to a room. We had to disturb the bar staff to ask where the room is and make our way to find it. The room was basic but clean. The mattress was full of jutting out springs (!) the furniture must have come from a junk shop as it was old, tatty and mismatched. No towel rails & had to ask for a hair dryer. Very thin walls. Breakfast advertised between 7 & 9 am. Waited in vain for 15 minutes from 7.00 but no staff in sight. There was no one around. Car park is a narrow alley with 4 spaces, filled with vans. No room for residents.
