Lovely spacious room, easy parking, excellent breakfast, helpful staff and nice pub!

Room smelt like dogs I didn't realise it was a dog hotel, there was a dog bed in the room, I did not book for a dog! Good breakfast, friendly staff and a car charger was handy.

Lovely old inn. Comfortable and civilised. Friendly staff. Evening meal in restaurant with inglenook fireplace very good as were the breakfasts. Rooms are spacious with quality furnishings. Towels excellent and nice to have fresh milk supplied in the mini fridge. Lovely beer garden in lovely rural setting. Recommended!

Good food, friendly helpful staff, nice room

We have stayed here 4 times for overnight stops. Everything is lovely and clean, staff, for the most part are pleasant and professional - I say for the most part - on our latest visit, we ordered a wine spritzer and specified soda, not lemonade and a half pint of pepsi. We got a spritzer with lemonade and a full pint of pepsi but it was soon sorted. We have had 4 different rooms out of the 5 that there are, and only one of them was what I would class as too small even for a standard double. The food in the restaurant is delicious and the breakfast - included in the price is perfect - whatever you want full English plus pastries, yoghourts, fruit etc. The outside area is lovely, with choices of seating in the beautiful garden, and a small play area for children. Our first choice for an overnight stop on the way to visit family.

Large, clean room. Very helpful staff, great breakfast.

The bedroom was adequate but would benefit and could have been cleaner especially the bathroom. The staff were all excellent, attentive and friendly and the food was top notch and decent value.

Exterior of the property needs a refurb(paint peeling off front door) - first impressions are everything. Staff interacted with customers to the bare minimum. Interior was clean and tidy and evening meal / breakfast very good.

Helpful friendly staff, coping well despite the heatwave

Second time in six months staying here for a two night break with our aging Cavapoo. Bedrooms are brightly decorated and supplied with tea, water and biscuits which went down well. Managed to choose a nice few days to sit out in the large beer garden. Food was lovely. Dog appreciated her breakfast sausage. All staff we encountered were friendly and polite. Stairs to the bedrooms fairly steep so could be a struggle for older large dogs - mine’s pickupable despite being weighed down with sausages, so could carry her up/down as she’s starting to struggle on stairs. Bath/shower could do with a handrail to hold onto when stepping in to avoid slipping. And a shame it’s only Carling lager on tap! But we’re looking forward to returning.

Very friendly staff. They had time for you, which I feel in this day and age is unusual. Breakfast to suit you! Very dog friendly ,also good dog walking around, with poo bag dispensers and bins strategically placed around the village

Nice place sor a short stay, good breakfast

Loved old inn. Staff went over and above to be helpful,dog even had sausage gor breakfast. I found out no lift Expedia said couldn't ca cel without losing my money,when I told them this they said not a problem they would have returned it,again thanks for nothing Expedia. Staff so helpful and helped to get up to bed. Food was to die for had evening meal,lovely fresh cooked menu and breakfast again fabulous. Would recommend and would go again in spite of no lift!

The check in was quick and easy. The breakfast was really good. The room we had was on the front with a big window which was lovely but had to draw curtains for privacy in day. The only criticism was that there was a slight sewer type smell on arrival going up the stairs to the room and also in the morning in the bathroom but otherwise we had a lovely one night stay.

Consistent Pub/Hotel that maintains high standards in Food offering and condition of Bedrooms. My first choice when staying in the area if it has rooms available.

Very accommodating clean food top quality lovely location fan in room great as it was so hot worked well. Will definitely be back to stay here One thing was the stairs to the rooms were steep so if you struggle with stairs.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay very friendly country inn with a lovely garden and play area,food and dining area was excellent.would highly recommend and would definitely return.
