Older hotel in heart of the pedestrian district. Close to all of Como’s best sites. Ferries and other public transportation close by. Parking is 5 minutes walk. Great staff, very helpful and friendly. Francesca was super helpful at check-in and sorting out parking for rental car.

We stayed there three days. The area is just beautiful and the area is very walkable in order to see the sites.

Basic hotel with basic amenities, but in a perfect location if you intend to stay in the center of Como. Very walkable to either train station, 5mins walk to the lake, and in a very lively piazza with lots happening. But be mindful of the noise at night, which doesn’t die down until around midnight. I was glad to be carrying earplugs with me. No in-coffee or tea. The breakfast was good though.

The location of the Alberto Firenze was perfect! It’s a short walk from the Como San Giovanni train station and an even shorter walk to the ferry station and Como-Brunate funicular. Downstairs in the square there are multiple delicious dining options. Our room had plenty of space for our luggage and the finishes all appeared to be updated within the last few years. We only had a couple of nights in Como but hope to go back and if we do I would happily book the Albergo Firenze again!

Great little spot in the piazza. Close to the lake. Very easy to find from Como San Gio.

The staff were nice, rooms clean, but we never were able to see any English Channels on the TV even though the staff said CNN, etc. were available. That’s the reason for the rating. You should accommodate your guests with English speaking channels.

Great location near the ferry, bus and train station. It was an easy walk to the basilica and funicular. The hotel provides a good variety of items in their breakfast offering.

Perfect position in Como, close to good restaurants and wine bars and ferry service

Helpful polite staff. Excellent location so we chose to stay here as it is only a few mins walk from the ferry terminal, funicular to Brunate, main landmarks and sights. Two train stations about 10 mins away. Downsides- it is an older property and the one lift is slow to get. Our room was on the 5th floor ( attic room with skylight) so always had to wait long for the lift. Lift never worked ( or came if it should have) at the time we stayed between the entrance on the ground and 1st floor where the reception is located so had to carry luggage up the narrow staircase. Breakfast was adequate but lacked a better variety of savoury foods. Had to ask for hot milk for the coffee which the staff were happy to provide but should be standard instead of tiny prepacked uht milk pots. Also had to ask for cappuccinos/other types of coffee as only the drip variety was on offer for a help-yourself breakfast. No staff came around with pots of tea/coffee as in other hotels of the same price/location. In fact the only time any member of staff came was to ask for your room number otherwise they could not be seen unless you popped your head around the kitchen. I am vegetarian so do eat eggs and cheese but no meat products. Scrambled eggs in the same hot tray as sausages etc. One variety of sliced cheese next to cold meats in the same tray and same serving tongs. The management need to learn from other hotel groups how people with varied diets need to he catered for. Hence 3stars
