I like how spacious and clean the hotel is

The no cost light dinner Monday thru Wednesday was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Both the light dinner and daily breakfast were good enough for free food to stick with them. The hotel was clean inside and out, though I was not happy to have to see - and confront - a homeless person snooping in the car next to mine with both his hands and face pressed against the front window. The hotel layout was very weird though, our room was closest to the front desk yet the furthest walk of all rooms unless you used the staff only door to go behind the kitchen - which we did every day because it saved 4-5 minutes of walking. I am sad to say that the beds sucked, my back and neck ached each and every night and it was not only hard to fall asleep but also hard to stay asleep. The outdoor courtyard was nice, and safe, and had lots of games but the music that seemingly never shot off at night was too loud..I could hear hits all through my sleep.

I'd like to have more options on breakfast. There were some broken equipment in the gym. Also the pool was pretty small - always overcrowded. Otherwise everything else was good and exceeded expectations.

Great family friendly place to stay. I love having two rooms so when we get the kids to bed the adults can stay up without needing to tip toe around. Breakfast was easy and plentiful, ping pong was a hit with the kids, and the coffee machine even made passable coffee 24/7. The rooms were nice - just what I like, simple and to the point. The only odd part was only 3 cups/plates/bowls for a room which sleeps 4. The stovetop was anemic - we had trouble boiling water for mac and cheese, but got it done! Fridge was great to have, a real one with a freezer. Would stay again next time we're in town, a no brainer.

Liked. Nice building with comfortable rooms. Good value for money. Not liked. Cheap, springy mattress. Sealed windows preventing access to fresh air from the room. No fan in the bathroom.

Overall, our stay at the hotel was pleasant. After a long drive from the Bay Area, we arrived around 2:30pm, a bit earlier than the official check-in time of 4pm. While we understood we were early, we were surprised to hear that, although our room was ready, we would need to pay an extra fee for early check-in. This was disappointing, as it’s the first time I’ve encountered a hotel charging extra when the room was already available. Aside from the reception experience, everything else about our stay was great. The room was comfortable, the amenities were nice, and the overall environment was enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel for its accommodations, but be aware of the strict check-in policy and potential additional charges.

Very clean, close to all the beaches, less than 30mins drive, yes this place has FREE dinner monday to wed, people should not complain about not much selection in dinner because it is FREE. Did I mention also FREE breakfast. Some people mention about free lunch there is no lunch, just free dinner mon-wed. We stayed one of corner room and it was huge with a sofa, big kitchen Cons: parking lot is small and parking space is very tight good we rented Nissan rogue. Cannot checkin early. Our ceiling fan did not work no biggie we just used hanger and gave it good spin and it worked whenever we needed. upstairs neighbors were noisy dragging chair and running 2am in the morning. Not hotel fault

Great place to stay with families.

Loved Lydia at check in. Was very kind and helpful. Breakfast is great. Real hot breakfasts daily! Soup and salad for dinner Monday through Wednesday. We have stayed here 3 summers in a row! Will definitely be back next year.

Enjoyed our stay. Great breakfast. Clean rooms friendly staff. Easy drive to Seaworld.

Good place to stay with kids!

Waste of money

I was a little annoyed that our room wasn’t ready until 4:30. Me, my husband, and our 3 grandchildren had to sit in the lobby for more than an hour before we got our room. We were hot, and tired from the long drive. They could have offered us some refreshments or something.

We traveled with our 3 year old and stayed for 2 nights. Our suite was very spacious and clean. On our first night we were excited to swim at the pool, but was it was closed. I recommend calling prior to going down with your kid crying asking why we can’t go in. Overall good experience other than that.

First of all, please know that there are 2 Homewood by Hilton San Diego hotels literally one mile apart and seemingly no way to distinguish them so be sure you are booking the correct one. We stayed at the other one down the street a few months ago and loved it so decided to book it again for our overnight in SD. It was SO disappointing to get to this hotel and realize it was the wrong one. The pool was much smaller and less nice IMO than the other which was a bummer since the pool was a big selling point. The worst part though was that after a long day at Seaworld we went to check in for our 1 night stay and our room was not ready. Not at 3pm when we got there. Not at 4pm (which is check in time!) we didn’t get our room until 4:30pm. They seemed very understaffed and disorganized. Otherwise seemed like a decent hotel.
