I enjoyed my stay at the SE Boutique Hotel. The rooftop bar is a highlight serving some great cocktails and the breakfast was consistently good. However there were some downsides - the local area is noisy late into the night and it was necessary to keep the room curtains closed for privacy as the room was directly overlooked from flats in the opposite streets. Some staff were friendly and helpful but some were not.

Hotel is perfectly positioned in the old town of Funchal with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants very close by. The room was a good size and we had beautiful sea views. Breakfast had a good selection however earliest access was 7:30am which was a problem as many tours had a pick up pre 8am. Due to a relatively small dining area, this caused a bottle neck for other guests also. For some mornings breakfast felt very rushed for us and far from ideal ahead of a days hiking.

This is a hard one to review. I cannot recommend this hotel if you book one of the rooms that have no windows (we did that mistake and it meant we had no idea of if it was bright or dark outside, and the room felt uncomfortable to us). Service was good, the breakfast was very good, but to advertise the hotel as a four-star boutique hotel and forget to mention that some rooms have no windows is in my view very disrespectful, and makes me disappointed and upset. One should not have to read the small print and figure out what is missing from the room description. Not sure if it is hotels.com or the hotel management that is responsible for the description, but I hope it is changed so that other guests get what they expect.

Great decor, the swimming pool and relaxation area was class - as was the rooftop bar.

The hotel has great location. However, the standard rooms are very small. In general, we enjoyed our experience there.

We stayed in the studio apartment. It was such a great location walkable to many stores and restaurants. The staff was also super friendly and helpful. They gave us some great recommendations. Also the welcome drink at the rooftop bar was a nice welcome!

Lovely small central hotel . Perfect for accessing the old town. If you don’t need an outdoor pool and like to be close to town this hotel is a good option.

Great boutique hotel located conveniently for exploring Funchal. Special thank you to the staff who were very friendly and helpful. Pros: central location, stylish design, good breakfast, excellent rooftop bar. Cons: standard rooms are tiny and have very little light (would recommend standard plus instead), some rooms in need of refurbishment, facilities like pool were unavailable. Overall, I would recommended this place.

This party is in the heart of Funchal. Staff was s friendly and breakfast had a good variety.

Hotel avec un emplacement fabuleux,en centre ville.5mn à pied pour se déplacer en bus même pour l'aéroport. Plein de restaurants excellent aux abords. Nous avions un appartement avec machine Nespresso,frigo.par contre dernier étage avec des velux donc le jour rentre de bonne heure le matin.
