The Ashley is good value for money, as such I was bordering on giving it an “excellent” rating, but it’s beginning to look very slightly tired in places. However don’t take this comment as a major criticism, it’s clean, it’s very close to town with a short walk over the footbridge and Jesus Green. We’ve been using the Ashley and its sister hotel The Arundel for 35 years during our jaunts to Cambridge and happy to continue doing so. A major plus at the Ashley is free parking and they’re thankfully flexible if you want to make the best of your last morning by leaving the car a short time after checking out.

The room was very clean with a comfortable bed and the breakfast was excellent. There was only one member of staff, Jan, who served breakfast and cleaned the rooms. She was very friendly and helpful. Loads of room for free parking. The only negative was that we were in a ground floor room and we could not open the windows! It was 33 degrees outside and was so hot in the room. Jan did bring us a fan that helped slightly. She explained that people were going out and leaving the windows open. So if you are going to book, then ask for an upstairs room.

Hotel with parking a 15/ 20 minute walk through a park into the centre of Cambridge, on a fairly busy road but plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, staff friendly, hotel is due for refurbishment , lots of stairs so wouldn’t recommend for anyone with mobility issues

We stayed here for the Cambridge Half Marathon. Very convenient position and excellent service! Staff are amazing and breakfast was a hit!

The staff are always very friendly and the breakfast is good.

We were pleasantly surprised. Very friendly, exceptionally clean room, esp the bed linen. Breakfast was ceral, yogurt, croisants , muffins plus cooked english. The waitress was super friendly with great banter. Being able to park was a plus, great pub opposire, 20 minute walk to the corn exchange. The walk was very enjoyable and we crossed the river to get into the city. My husband lost the front door/ room keycard however the sister hotel The Arundel fixed , even though it was almost midnight . we will stay again. Thank you Ashley.

Staff are fine, the room is very out of date , the shower is very small, shower head needed cleaning, to operate the shower it’s a good thing that I’m a strong man because to turn the thing on was very difficult

The room was ok, fairly spacious but dated. For some reason the breakfast was closed at 0850 so I knocked on the door. The chef then told me breakfast was over because it finishes at 0930 (it's only 0850) and then went back into the kitchen. So I had a bed but no breakfast

If you’re visiting Cambridge with a car, stay here! Nice hotel, lovely staff, delicious breakfast and free parking. Leave the car and walk into town. Perfect.

Was good for a nights stay. Breakfast was good aswell too.

Staffs are helpful and friendly. Distance from Cambridge university is convenient.
