A bed so uncomfortable I cut my stay short. No heating in the room in weather that needed it. A real contrast between the photos on the web site and reality. I guess it was cheap and in reality I got what I paid for!

Manly Waves delivers again! I love the laid-back and “come as you are” atmosphere. The heart, soul and history of this establishment always shines through - especially when you spend the time appreciating all the little, intricate details around the properties, and intentionally engaging with the owner, staff and other guests. I also noticed several incremental improvements have been made since my last stay. Kudos to the Manly Waves team for listening to its customers and being committed to continuous improvement, even when it’s tough. I appreciate the time it takes to realise any sort of substantive and sustainable change. Keep it up! My daughter and I look forward to many more joyful experiences at our favourite hidden gem in Sydney’s northern beaches!

The smell of sewerage was constant. I thought it was a dead animal somewhere! But thinking now they didn't have a trap for their grey water. We moved the furniture to check and found out there had been no cleaning done for a very long time. Love that it was old place but it need s a bit of care factor when it comes to people paying to stay there.

Lots of mould in the bathroom, room was below standard. Access key supplied didn’t open gate to get access to the property after hours. After hours contact number was not answer after calling multiple times. Over all the whole property was below living standard with junk everywhere. Would never stay here again.

Loved how close it was to the beach and friendly staff who helped us with recommendations for restaurants nearby.

The smell & presence of mould in the room was unbearable; toilet brush covered in all manner of debris, paint peeling off walls, common areas unkept, staff yelling outside rooms at early hours. Non-compliant electrical & plumbing work evident throughout

Close to the beach-Yes Staff- pleasant Amenities/ house- needs a good refurb. Bathroom not very clean, bathroom sink dirty. Kitchen okay. WIFI okay but TV didn't work. It would be of great benefit to deep clean the apartment (we stayed in the 3 bedrooms). It would be cute and more comfortable if it was maintained better. We didn't get the apartment we got on our confirmation invoice. Although the staff members were kind, I wouldn't go back there.

Genuinely so awful. I couldn’t stay there despite having paid over $600 for two nights. The rooms are dirty, smelly and grimy and the accommodation is unsafe. As a single woman travelling alone I felt instantly nervous.

We were moved on to Manly Waves sister property Lotus which was effectively an old apartment block 50 metres from where we booked and the employee expected us to know that. Room was significantly lacking and not what I had booked. If possible we would have left and stayed elsewhere. Had to ask for clean towels. Dirty towels where still sitting out front when we left. Mouldy shower and tiles were coated in soap scum. I had a shower with a cockroach too. The couch was stained and belonged in the tip.

We had the PLEASURE of staying at this wonderful place in the apartment place towards the cozy small strees taking you directly down to the beach - maybe 150 meters - and the apartment had a very nice small garden and veranda - VERY kind and nice host - we will be back in 2027 and will be staying here again!!!!

Sadly, we don’t have many positive comments to add. The room did not match the promo.

Cockroach in room and ancient air-conditioning did not cool

An overall rating of “Excellent” accompanied by five little blue stars doesn’t adequately capture my experience at Manly Waves. I was looking for a room. I found a refuge. Manly Waves has soul, depth, character, charm; a story to tell…and time to tell it. A rare gem in today’s world. This space is a testament to the incredible foundation and community that Theo & his team have built with genuine care and intention over the years. Stop by. Pull up a chair. Stay awhile. You won’t regret it. ✨

Staff was great, but the room could have been cleaner.

Very basic accommodation with poor quality bedding and dowdy decor. Water pressure and temperature inconsistent.

Pretty sure I’ve been bitten by bed bugs. Itchy rash and I saw the bugs crawling at night

Good position. Clean room. Quite a run down property though.

The room was grotty, bedside lamps were both broken and TV didn't work. Car park under a verandah on the edge of the footpath was an extra $20 per night. Shower was great.
