Great location at Eyer square, the only knock I have is parking is a real hassle and fairly far away but overall great

Wonderfully staffed, centrally located, gem of a hotel with spacious rooms. Both train and bus stations are very close by. The staff is so friendly and helpful! We thoroughly enjoyed The Skeffington Arms! Highly recommend!

We had a lovely spacious room. Very comfortable bed! The shower was fantastic. There was plenty of bathroom space to put your "stuff". Breakfast was good. Our only issue was that there was no airflow in the room. I understand no A/C, given the climate. But a fan would help to move the air.

The hotel is close to everything and parking is available which the hotel provides a great explanation of how to access. Despite it being a late night venue our room was very quiet and we enjoyed breakfast that was available - really good value. Would recommend’

Best location in Galway, but a little noisy as it is over a bar after all. But, if that’s your jam then this is the place!

My second stay at Skeffington Arms. Conveniently located, clean and comfortable but most importantly an amazing staff!

Hotel is centrally located, but not too convenient if you’re coming in with a car. The parking lot is about three blocks away and if you’re traveling with luggage, it can be a bit inconvenient. Also, I found the rest of the hotel very loud.

The property is in a great location….walking distance to everything. However, it’s definitely a bit run down. The carpeting and bathrooms need renovations. The beds were comfortable.

We had booked a 13 hour bus trip to the Cliffs of Moher but got off in Galway and had booked a night at the Skeffington Arms Hotel. It's perfectly located for Shop Street, the main street in Galway. Also convenient distance to the walking paths along the River Corrib that divides the city on the way to Galway Cathedral and just a few minutes walk to the bus and train station. The staff were as everywhere in Galway and Dublin nice and helpful. Good rooms although the view of a tiny cavity at the back of the hotel was not great, but just a one night stay. We heard the music from the bar when we arrived at the hotel at midnight, but our room was far enough away from it that we were not disturbed. Breakfast includes hot options that the waiter takes your order for when you're seated. There should be information about that because we and many others we saw were very disappointed with the other breakfast options that was laid out, deducting a star. Maybe just a temporary problem as it was apparently a temporary room for breakfast when we were there in May 2026?

The Skeffington Arms Hotel was a perfect place for our stay in Galway. The hotel is centrally located making seeing the city easy. Offsite parking is close by and the city is very walkable. The hotel is well maintained and quaint. The bar/lounge next door has great food and music. Very happy with this location.

The partyng downstairs went on till 2:00 a.m. The property provided us with ear plugs but they were useless with the thumping sounds from the floor. Please don't stay here if you want a good night sleep.
