What a find in a beautiful area. Short trip off the A1 and absolutely stunning pub with rooms. Rooms were great, comfortable clean and has everything you will need for a good stay. Dinner was really tasty. Didn’t stop for breakfast but can only imagine how nice it would be. Would definitely recommend and would stay next time I am in the area

Breakfast guy was just fab so chatty and friendly. He’s a real gem! Other staff members could be a bit happier and friendly .

We had a fabulous two days at the Grantham Arms, the property was clean, the staff were so friendly, helpful and could not do enough for us, plus the room was lovely. We booked the breakfast and this was amazing, cooked to perfection for us. We will definitely go there again.

Our first stay here with friends , but won’t be our last Will return with our pooch as also dog friendly. Very helpful and friendly Staff , rooms clean and comfortable, evening meal and breakfast both excellent. Great location for visiting various parts of north Yorkshire .

The room were clean, comfortable and well appointed with tea and coffee facilities. Bathroom was spotless with shower gel and shampoo provided and extra large fluffy bath sheets. A little warm due to excessive summer temperatures, however fans and air conditioning units were provided. Fresh milk and cold drinking water and ice was available at the bar which was a nice touch. We didn’t end up eating in the restaurant due to complicated dietary requirements, however everything looked delicious. Across the road is a lovely canal walk and the town itself has good shops and cafes.

Lovely pub & accommodation, the small room was big enough for us. Loved the little extra touches in the rooms. Good location. Brilliant powerful shower!! Quiet from downstairs but slamming doors from other guests disturbed us all weekend. Also water pipe noise continuously throughout the night. Lovely blinds but let light In & so not dark enough on a summer morning. Would love to stay again with earplugs & eyemask!

After a 6 hour drive the Grantham was very pleasing to see and did not disappoint. Room was clean and comfortable and the food excellent.

This is a friendly pub very convenient for the A1 with excellent staff and lovely food. The bathroom was new, spacious and comfortable. It's a bit noisy outside due to the location but this is outweighed by the staff who can't do enough for you!

I booked this room as the photo of the rooms on the website showed spacious amount of room . The room was small. Could hardly move, around the room, nothing like as advertised, just a box room.I guess we were taken for a ride. Booked for two days, left after one. Will not be going back! Get your booking photo changed to reflect the real rooms available.

It was a good hotel, we were visiting family in the area so was a nice base. We had stayed at other nearby hotels so wanted to try this one. It was okay for one night, we booked in for dinner. The menu is extremely limited for dietary requirements, with things listed as vegetarian that weren't and food didn't match description. We didn't book breakfast, again as similar wanted a much refresher breakfast rathan than a fry up. Gave 4 stars as was a lovely bed, very comfortable! The bathroom smelt quite damp after a shower, no window open. Didn't hear any noise from the pub. Overall good b&b for a night - would recommend the Crown though due to facilities/spa area.

Excellent and unusual room.

Really nice comfortable pub/ resteraunt. Staff were efficient, friendly and helpful, good selection of tasty food and drinks served in a very relaxing atmosphere. Luxury double room didn't dissapoint. Finding good accommodation on a budget is not easy in this part of Yorkshire.

We so loved our stay the previous week that we chose to stay a week later. Unusual for us. Well recommended.

A lovely place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable with heating, aircon AND fan! We only needed the fan. Shower was powerful and clean. The curtains were very good at keeping out the light. Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was delicious and good value. The only small issue was that the external lights remained on all through the night, from an eco friendliness point of view, could be improved. Well recommended stay. Delightful and pretty part of the world.
