We only stayed here for one evening on our way back from our Irish coast tour. We were surprised that the rooms were in such bad shape, because the reviews were so good. The bathroom was not in good shape, the carpet was falling apart, the water would not get hot, and the water in the shower was backfilling. I was initially furious, so I sent an email to front office. Dean, who was working that evening was incredibly responsive and emphatically apologized for the inconveniences. He provided a room credit and assured us that this is not the norm in this hotel. Thanks so much Dean for being so understanding and listening to me as I vented. You are AWESOME!

The hotel is under renovation so understand few things might not be perfect. The staff are lovely. The rooms are spacious beds are comfy and it quite too at night. The breakfast you need to order from menu than a buffet. Very nice fresh and tasty pastries too. Have juice bar & can order coffee. You will feel at home. No smoke smell etc. Too. Ample parking available. Overall a nice hotel to stay.

After checking in we entered our room, which had a stale smell. As it was very warm we opened the window only to find no security chain so we had to close it when we went out. There must have been a shortage of toilet roll as we had 1 full roll and about a 1/4 of a 2nd one. Next week come to the bar for refreshment and food. Our food order was promptly taken but the wait for it was slow. As to drinks, again slow to ask if we wanted any. We decided to settle our bill and go to the bar for our own drinks, not much better. Upon returning to our room for the night we found the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable giving us very little sleep. When we checked out we were asked if everything was ok. I told them about the bed and odoursome room only to be told there was some work to be done and mattresses to be replaced.

Kai who worked the bar/restaurant we found to be extremely helpful & friendly. We did not get her name but the young lady in the breakfast room was also lovely

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond — you truly could not ask for more exceptional service. Everyone we encountered was warm, welcoming, and eager to help in any way they could. The room was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully prepared — a perfect retreat after a long day. We also loved the on-site pub — great atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly service that made us feel right at home. Honestly, everything exceeded our expectations. It just couldn’t have been any better. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Everyone was extremely helpful and kind

The hotel was exactly what we needed. A quick cheap overnight stay with a bit of comfort. We used the hotel for as an overnight trip for Mondello Park, the room and bathroom were clean and tidy. We used the bar for both food and drinks with the quality being very good. Catering for both my fathers old fashioned cuisine as well as for something a wee bit more adventurous for me. The next morning the breakfast in the restaurant was fantastic, fresh and good value for money.

The Hamlet is a convenient place to the major highway. Rather tired interior and our bathroom drinking glasses were not clean. Staff was very nice and dinner in their bar was good.

My wife and I did a small tour of Ireland on a motorbike we stayed here for the last night we asked if we could put the motorbike somewhere safe and they accommodated us very well from the front of staff to the maintenance guy Paul and the night porter they was all brilliant to say the least the room was immaculate the pizza in the bar was probably one of the best we have ever had the Guinness was top notch and the bar staff was superb this is a super place to stay if you are in the area we will be returning next year.

Easy drive from Dublin Airport on our travel west. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Restaurant attached had excellent food.
