If you don’t care about comfort or cleanliness, this will be fine to stay at. We stayed there for two nights for my mums 70th birthday as a treat. It is marketed as a luxurious apartment however it isn’t! I had to pay an extra £25 for the sofa bedding though it is supposedly an apt for 6! Trust me, it is not! When we saw the pathetic sofa bed, a contraption whereby the back of the sofa collapses down flat, it is barely big enough for a child to sleep on let alone two people. The bedding I had to pay for consisted of 2 flat sheets, but due to the nature of the sofa bed couldn’t be tucked it so just hug over the bed. There was no topper or anything to put underneath the sheet so you were basically lying straight onto the sofa buttons and large joins in the sofa couch. There was a horrible cupboard with disgusting discoloured quilts of some sort all roughly stuffed in and I’m assuming this is the cupboard that you were to take the extra pillow from for the sofa bed. For 6 people there were two small rolls of toilet paper for the entire weekend. I’ve never gone away on holidays and had to purchase my own toilet roll. The wind coming through the curtains was crazy. The thick dust on the skirting board in one of the bedrooms showed the place hasn’t been cleaned properly in a long time. The double beds are just bigger than singles. The shower is a complete nightmare, water gushing all over the floor. Will definitely go back to using Destiny accommodation next time, not here!

This was our first trip to Scotland. We made our plans on short notice and Doune Terrace only had two reviews. We took a chance and were very pleased with our experience. The location was perfect! We were informed the day before arriving that there was an additional charge for the sofa bedding and that we would be climbing up 22 stairs to the apartment door. We arrived at night because our flight was delayed. There is no lighting on the outside of the entryway nor on the inside foyer or stairwell. This is my only complaint that could be improved on. Lighting on the stairs would be a good addition. There is an old musty smell in the foyer and the stairs are very dirty. With that aside upon entering the apartment we were extremely delighted to find a spacious living area with two nice size bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Beautiful views outside the windows. Very comfortable, quiet, very clean and great location. We highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.
