Comfort, ambiance, staff- amazing! The personalized welcome letter and fruit basket was really appreciated! I hadn’t stayed at the Serena for many years and was happy to see that the good standards has been maintained. I will be back!

Nice hotel. Breakfast is very nice. The chef made a fantastic omelette and the cappuccino was good.

Park like property in nice district. Helpful staff. Buffet dinner was fair- I was sickened, possibly by warm food at the buffet.

The Kampala Serena never dissapoints. Great service, nice, comfortable and wide rooms and great food served by very friendly professionals.

Honest Review of This Hotel I want to share my honest experience at this hotel. From the moment I stepped in, I was met with a strong unpleasant odor in the lobby, which was extremely hot because they don’t turn on the AC. The price was outrageous—$280 per night—which is completely overcharged for what this hotel offers. The power went out, the furniture and facilities are outdated, and it feels like a hotel from the 1970s or 1980s, not 2025. One major issue was mosquitoes in the lobby, likely due to open doors and lack of air conditioning. I stayed for a week and ended up paying over $3,000 USD. On top of that, when I had a guest who wanted to use the swimming pool, the hotel refused, saying I had to pay $29—which they never informed me about in advance. The carpet smelled awful, giving off a haunted house vibe, and the bathroom was old and in serious need of renovation. The worst part? I found a cockroach on the buffet one morning. When I asked a waiter about it, they simply dismissed my concern. Overall, this hotel was dirty, outdated, overpriced, and had terrible service. I would never recommend staying here

This is a lovely upscale property in the city centre of Kampala. It is within a short drive from the town's business centre and nicest international standard restaurants. The hotel itself is very nice, with top notch security, good food and nice rooms. We really enjoyed the Swimming Pool which is well above anything we expected, with its waterfall and greenery.

Exceptional Service!

It was a pleasant stay. There were a few other events with high level delegates that caused some traffic congestion getting to and from the hotel. I would stay here again

Had some issues with the lighting in the room and takes forever for the water to warm but overall an excellent place to stay! The staff is amazing in every way!!I I will book again with Serena on my next trip to Uganda.
