The staff make this hotel as they are friendly, efficient and very courteous. Everyone from the front desk, valet, porters, housekeeping and pool staff stood out. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The bars are well stocked and have a nice atmosphere. The room was serviced to a high standard, the beds are comfortable and we were lucky to have a fantastic view from two balconies.
If you are happy to get to the pool before 9am there is a good supply of sun loungers. Whilst the website suggests a temperature controlled pool, throughout our stay, the water temperature was too cold to use. The beach area is a bonus for a city location. The sun does disappear behind the buildings around midday however.
Sadly, breakfast was quite stressful and on one day we just couldn’t wait what could have been an hour. The facility is far too small for the number of guests, leading to long queues and a hectic experience first thing each day. The food selection is good but on more than one occasion I was told to ‘wait’ for a hot drink after asking where the order was after 30 mins.
Our room also had a strong smell of fried food at all times suggesting a duct work issue.
We spent very little time in the room so it did not spoil our stay.
Overall a very pleasant stay, the main area to be improved is the breakfast experience.
