Great location, staff and amenities. Spotless

Really nice hotel in an excellent location!

The hotel is in a good location. It’s an easy walk to the historic downtown area. Room service is available until very late, which is nice if you arrive on a late flight. The rooms are tiny and contain only two small drawers so my family lived out of suitcases for a week. The hotel does not contain any kind of a sundries shop, which would have been nice. The hotel was fine overall, but having stayed in many 5 star hotels before, I’m confused how it achieved this rating. Nothing blew me away.

Clean , perfect location and best staff

We loved our stay at Reykjavik Edition. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was in a beautiful area near the harbor with views of the water and harpa music hall. It was within walking distance of all major sites and shopping/restaurants. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a nice shower. We would def recommend staying here and would stay here again ourselves.

We had a great stay at the Reykjavík edition. Excellent room, restaurant, spa and gym. Just be aware that at the weekend it’s quite noisy until midnight or 1am if you are on the sixth floor due to the rooftop bar with speakers outside. Plus the compulsory daily resort/destination fee you pay only gets you credit to use in the main restaurant for lunch and dinner and not the bar, spa, coffee shop or for breakfast.

The Edition Reykjavik is an outstanding hotel in many ways. Every member of staff offered exemplary service, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and a credit to the Marriott brand. The hotel is uniquely stylish and in a lovely seafront position alongside the iconic concert hall-Harpa. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel and will be returning in the future.

We absolutely love this hotel .. it really ticks every single box. Super comfy beds a brilliant nights sleep lovely pillows great food and lovely friendly team looking after us ! Well done for such a great place to stay in Reykjavík !!!

The location is on the new harbour within easy walking distance of the centre (although frankly there are better hotels closer to the centre that represent better value), the rooms themselves are fine, and the breakfast buffet is very good. Unfortunately this is where the positives end, and it is hard to offer constructive criticism. This is supposedly a 5 star hotel. We booked one night, at a cost of approximately £680. As such this is certainly not a cheap or mid range hotel. I do not mind spending money on holidays, but anticipate and expect to receive a product or service commensurate with the price paid. The hotel has a rooftop bar with views of the harbour. Whilst the views are worth seeing the bar is open to non residents and was exceptionally packed. The problem is that when we went to bed at 11pm we could not sleep due to the high level of noise from the bar easily heard from our room two floors below. We could tell the bar closed at 1am, but then throughout the night at intervals were woken by loud noises in the corridor. On checking in there was a surprising wait of approx 30 minutes. We did ask for a late checkout, but were told we could not have a late checkout as the hotel is busy. That of course is a valid reason, but what we found unacceptable was the tone and manner of the reception staff - brusque bordering on rude. We had a drink at the ground floor bar, and then ordered another round. We had to cancel that order after 20 minutes.
