Why this is only 3 star is baffling, a 5 star all day long

Superb location, excellent cleanliness, easy parking, wonderful breakfast.

We stayed 2 nights here . What a wonderful hotel . The staff were amazing. Helpful and very friendly . First night we ate in the restaurant. Food was plentiful hot and so delicious What a star Neil our waiter was . Happy to chat about the area and gave us some ideas of where and what to visit . Loved the ladies at breakfast who were so attentive . Again food amazing and piping hot til the last mouthful . Thank you Duck Bay Im sure we will return one day .

We only stayed one night, but the view was gorgeous and the hotel was very pleasant and comfortable. Would stay again.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Even made a big fuss over our evening meal as it was my wife and I's wedding anniversary... Lovely touch. It must be our 5th or 6th stay and won't be our last.

Nice cafe / bar area. Comfy and the staff came round regularly to take orders. Breakfast was really good. Cooked to order. Staff very attentive. Room was nice. We had a ground floor room with an outdoor seating area although we don’t use it. Very light room, we had French doors and 2 windows in the bedroom.

We had one of the few rooms that overlooked the Loch. What a view! Room was very comfortable and clean. Staff friendly and helpful.

Breakfast delicious and parking safe and easy

The location of the property is glorious, spectacular views and if you do not wish to eat in the restaurant there are several others about a one mile walk away in Balloch or a short drive. Although our room was small, it was well decorated and had everything we needed. The only downside was having a room which overlooked the roadside. It was extremely noisy with guests and staff leaving/entering the building at all times of the night/early morning and the noise from the A82 from early hours was not good. You really need to take a room overlooking the water as it will be much quieter. Breakfast choice was really good however we were disappointed that several simple dishes e.g. eggs Benedict incurred an extra £5 charge! Selection of fruits was good however on our second morning they had no natural yogurt. Also too much oil used to cook the fried food. Scrambled eggs and porridge were however delicious. Overall a good stay and lovely staff throughout.

It was a great property on Loch Lomand. Great place for so many reasons but if you need a parking spot be patient

Very clean and comfortable room. Staff were helpful and breakfast was great.

One thing that stood out was how friendly the staff were, the reception, restaurant and housekeeping staff always greeted you with a smile and a chat. Room was clean on arrival so no complaints there. Only downsides was that the rooms are on the small side, not much room to move about in, also, being wakened up in the early hours by a delivery vehicle right outside our window wasn’t ideal. Overall, an enjoyable stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book again but would request a loch view room next time.
