Overhaul very good although the restaurant closed at 7.00 and the bar 9.00 on Sunday.

Excellent and hotel and facilities. Luxury room is worth the extra. Very well maintained and clean. Lots of little added extras added. Staff were very friendly, food (dinner and breakfast) both excellent. A very wide ranging wine selection. Lovely little outdoor area to enjoy a drink in the sun.

This Gem was so great! Stayed 2 nights with a friend. Food was amazing! Staff were awesome, very friendly and accommodating! Shout out to Summer at the front desk and everywhere in between. She was the best! Would certainly stay again!

Very good food and the rooms are very good and the prices are great! Always stay here when I’m in this area as it knocks spots off the bigger hotels for food, price, service and quality of rooms

Excellent 2 night stay at the Hare and hounds. Such a lovely well presented pub and very nicely decorated rooms, Our room was named "The Flying Duck" and it was perfect. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was amaizing. Breakfast both mornings was fab and fresh Its an easy 20 minute walk into Newbury but if walkings not your thing its a short drive with lots of pay and display parking in the town centre. On the topic of parking loads of free parking in the carpark at the rear of the property whilst your at the pub, space was never an issue for our stay. Perfect location in our opinion with easy access to the newbury bypass and the A34 to Oxford. Would deffo recommend this property for a night or 2 if you want to explore the area.

Everything about the hotel was perfect.

Room was small. The espresso coffee machine not working, was reported, but unfortunately nothing done about it!! The toilet seat was broken, again reported but not repaired.

Very nice property, great staff, very accommodating, lovely food.

2nd time at this hotel, but this time disappointing. We were in room 19 as we were travelling with our dog, which is a nice room, with a bathroom well suited to handicapped guests. All of which was fine. Sadly there was no heating and no hot water, so shower was very fast in the morning! Dinner… many things on the menu were unavailable due to a delivery problem and an upcoming new menu launch. Sadly what we did get was mediocre, and probably not great value. Breakfast… much better. Would I stay again, probably not. It is a nice hotel, but we just felt let down this time.

The staff and service were excellent, the bedrooms are luxurious with great facilities. Road noise and noisy fellow guests spoilt my sleep.

Lovely comfortable and clean room and very quiet. Random side note: pillows were great - full and firm - a rare occurrence in my experience.

Feel like the standards are going downhill. The towels in the room were tatty with frayed edges. Lots of dust on the bottom of the rails in the hanging space. In the restaurant, none of the napkins were ironed and looked like they had been recycled from table to table. The breakfast menu has been reduced significantly which is a shame.

The room was fabulous, the bathroom gorgeous & loved the nespresso & the complimentary sloe gin :-) Check in/out was smooth & decent car park.

Clean room, electric car charging, nice check in with nice staff, comfortable.
