The rooms are very dated and in desperate need of an upgrade/refurbishment. No running hot water, radiator not working, broken light pully in bathroom, no shelf, towel rail or toilet roll holder, no hairdryer. Stained and dirty chairs in the bedroom, the room really needs a good clean. There was no hot food or wifi which was blamed on the storm, but I see previous posts about no wifi so I'd question the lack of food & wifi being blamed on the storm. Breakfast was lovely but no cereal, fruit etc. It felt like the hotel was closing down. On a positive note, the staff are all absolutely lovely, helpful and friendly, they brought an electric heater to the room and the location is fantastic. The picture of the room was I was booking looked modern, newly decorated and luxurious but the room I stayed in was dirty and mismatched, £123 for this was poor.

Overall it was ok and a pleasant experience. However, the pool was ice cold and I had only booked that place because of the swimming pool. The 'spa' facilities are quite poor and run-down. The hotel itself was decorated very well for Christmas and it was warm and welcoming. Hannah deserves a special mention for being so efficient.

Room was huge, very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Staff were all friendly & helpfull, making our stay very pleasant. Wifi didn't work but didn't affect us and only tiny criticism would be a lack of hooks/rails in the lovely bathroom, as there was nowhere to hang wet towels.

Dated, fusty, sticky surfaces in room and at breakfast, which was poor and verging on unhygienic. Spa area also looked forlorn and grimy. Not worth the price paid.

No internet / WiFi. Wasn’t the cleanest, as some food that was on the floor in the evening was there the following morning for breakfast.

A very tired hotel in a lovely location. All in all this place has seem better days. Rooms shabby. Plumbing Victorian, tables at breakfast not clean and sticky. But, on the bright side, the staff were delightful and could not have done more to make us welcome.

Comfortable laid back hotel in delightful grounds and beautiful views

The property was an amazing old manor house. Very comfortable bed, amazing views from our window. You need a car, remote location.

Lange überlegt welche Bewertung ich gebe. Anfangs hat das Hotel einen guten Eindruck gemacht aber durch viele kleine schlechte Erfahrungen einen miesen Nachgeschmack hinterlassen. Zimmerservice hat die Tür unverschlossen gelassen. Und auch nicht viel im Zimmer gemacht. Zimmer waren von Anfang an auch nur so gerade Ok sauber. Durch größere Feier dort wurde ganze Rest des Hotels vernachlässigt. Kann ja verstehen wenn dadurch Personal stärker beschäftigt ist, aber Rezeption und Hotelbar über eine halbe Stunde unbesetzt zu lassen ist schon nicht professionell. Essen im Hotel Restaurant war mittelmäßig, Kinderportionen und überteuert. Karte war komplett Französische Küche.... in England... naja. Frühstück war mal Ok mal schlecht und immer eher Kinderportionen. Zwischendurch wurde dann auch mal irgend ein Kräuteröl über ganzen Teller und Frühstück verteilt. Wohl Deko aber wenn es den Geschmack verändert sollte es mit auf der Karte stehen. Einzige Grund für nicht ganz schlechte Bewertung war ein Team von jungen Personal das trotz allem immer freundlich und hilfsbereit war.

Je suis venue dans cet hôtel pour 1 nuit est je n’ai pas du tout appréciée…. Attention dans les chambres il y a de grandes fenêtres mais ne s’ouvrent pas complètement uniquement le haut vers l’extérieur… pas de Clim ! Avec cette chaleur Juste un petit ventilateur pour survivre… le spa est trop décevant… une piscine froide qui ne donne pas envie, un jacuzzi trop brûlant un sauna hyper petit ( il ne faut pas être claustrophobe ..) les vestiaires sales. Un conseil apporter bien vos claquettes.. et pour finir j’ai pris un repas ( salade cesar) horrible ! Quelques bout de salade avec 1kg de mayonnaise et quelques morceaux de parmesan… ( j’avais demandé sans anchois) et le tout pour 16$?! J’ai rien touché.. à part ça le petit déjeuner est très bien et le personnel très sympathique. C’est dommage … et décevant

Had a fabulous stay, staff were absolutely brilliant. Room was lovely and the location was idyllic. We travelled with our dog and she also had a great stay, especially with the on site dedicated dog walk! We will definitely be back

Lots of parking, lovely dining room and food. Hot tub, swimming pool and sauna on site, which was great and a very welccome surprise. Our room was excellent, extremely warm and comfy, and with amazing views. Aa very easy walk into town for mooching round the shops and pubs etc, plus of course the castle ruins. Very happy and would happily return please.

A lovely hotel, a bit of faded grandeur in places but comfortable and welcoming with a lovely atmosphere. Food very good and gym very well equipped. Beautiful location. Will definitely stay again.

The room was very poor compared to other Hotels we have stayed in and for cheaper rates. Just the small walk along the corridor to our room 19 made it feel like you were in an uncared for area with Boxes left in the corridor and every room having a different style of cheap door. The furniture in the room was very cheap and tacky like something you would get from B&Q for a child’s bedroom. Also the TV didn’t work in our room. We did pre book a tables for diner at the hotel but we lost confidence in spending any further money there and instead ate out at a very lovely place “The Bear Hotel” 1 mile up the road in the local village.

Friendly, helpful staff.Room was comfy and clean with amazing views. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Outside grounds need maintenance looks uncared for,which is a shame because this is a wedding venue. Crickhowell is a delight and can be walked to from hotel as there is a pavement once you get to the bottom of the drive. Plenty of places to hike/walk in the area.

Hotel and staff were lovely helpful and friendly. Room was very warm and big thick duvet on the bed though
