Fantastic staff, beautiful room, comfy bed !! The cooked breakfast was cooked to perfection

Although the decor and building felt a bit dated - lots of dark wood and patterned carpets - it was very clean and the staff were brilliantly friendly - remembering our names to greet us in the morning. The breakfast was straightforward and tasty and arrived quickly - loved the fact that there was cake on the breakfast buffet! It was quiet at night too. Had to air the room as there was condensation on the inside of the sash windows but wondered if that was because it wasn't possible to double-glaze them. It was plenty warm enough in chilly March and had a lovely warm shower and big fluffy towels. The room itself didn't have a lot of space for storage, just a small slightly musty cupboard which we didn't use in the end. It would have been nice to have some herbal tea and biscuits in the room. I think it's generally quite expensive to stay in the lakes as this was more than we would normally pay to stay but the location was excellent for walking and Ambleside itself.

Friendly staff, clean room and only a hundred yards from the centre. Breakfast was excellent in a nice large bright room with conservatory.

Had a lovely stay here in March for a long weekend. We were welcomed so warmly and the room was beautiful, with everything we needed. Would definitely return! Thank you ☺️

Breakfast was great, staff were attentive and the place was very clean. Theres lots to do close by, plenty of trails and next towns are maybe 5-10 mins away if you fancied more. My mrs and I were really happy with everything and would certainly recommend it to anyone!

The hotel is in a fab position being only a short walk to the centre of town and having its own car park. On our arrival we received a very warm and friendly welcome. The room was spotlessly clean and very spacious and the bed very comfy. Breakfast in the morning was really good, plenty of choice and very tasty. Overall excellent value for money, I would definitely stay here again if visiting Ambleside.

What a wonderful friendly place this is. From the host to the staff at breakfast time. To me that is the most important thing. However the breakfast was wonderful. Room was really nice. Close to the town centre

Lovely traditional B&B very close to the centre of Ambleside. The room was clean, warm and beautifully decorated. The bed was super comfortable! Joanna was a great host and I felt very welcome and safe as a solo guest. The breakfast room was charming and I enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast on offer. The only minor negatives were the shower and the lack of hygiene bags in the bathroom. I also struggled to access the apps on the smart TV. Overall it's an excellent place to stay and I would book again if I were visiting the area.
