This place had a full-on glowup in their advertising. It is a 'classic' building, meaning walk up to 3rd floor in our case. The entrance off the street is a side door, we didn't see anyone in the 'office' during our time there. They were very responsive to email communication, and their listing was technically accurate, but it was not at all what we expected. The green short term parking zones out front, are only short term until 9pm, so if you arrive late, there is no parking to unload. The area is a mix of hotels & tourist stuff, and services for the unhoused, live in hotels, etc. This hotel itself clearly also rents rooms by the week/month. The kitchenette is spacious by hotel standards and the closet space was great. The beds and bedding were very basic, no extra pillows available in the room. I did like that the windows opened, but there's a lot of action in the area. They don't clean for stays less than 7 days, which tells you what a mix of clientele they have. If you're adventurous and can handle the stairs, then this is a great fit for the price.

Much more spacious than expected which was a pleasant surprise. Centrally located. Close to the beach, convention center, public transportation, restaurants and shopping. Street parking is scarce. Parking is possible to book with the host for a nightly cash only fee. It’s located a block away in a parking garage. Pack light, this place doesn’t have an elevator. Expect to climb stairs. Overall, great short term stay.

The code provided to enter the property was incorrect. We had problems contacting someone to assist us. The rest of our stay was very nice.

Hotel metropolitan is a fantastic option in Long Beach. I’ve stayed there multiple times. It is clean and quiet, and the rooms are large and equipped with kitchenettes and all necessary amenities. The location is also fantastic, close to lots of shops and restaurants.

My family and i enjoyed our stay here. I was in town for a convention and it was an easy 15 minute walk. Close to restaurants and the outlets. The bed was comfortable, loved the big kitchen and bathroom, and large closet. And we loved the roku TV. For parking, tou can park on the street or use the hotel around the corner they have partnered with for parking. It is a historic hotel, so if one does not appreciate old charm, i wouldnt recommend. No elevator but we didnt mind the short amount of steps. Water takes a bit to get hot so just keep that in mind. With historic hotels you have thin walls and creaky floors but it wasnt an issue with us. We appreciated the updated bathroom and wood floors. Only recommendation is that the rug underneath the bed needs to be changed, it was stained.

Staff were excellent. They went above of what was required for check in for our large group of 7 rooms. They called me several times with updates and it was very appreciative. Hotel is close enough to walk to beach area and the aquarium. We would stay again.

Great location in an historic building. Room was clean and comfortable. It was like staying in a studio apartment. Having a kitchenette was a big plus. Would stay here again next time I come to Long Beach.

Would not stay again

Though I wasn’t really looking for something with a kitchenette, we ended up using it and it was really nice to have. Clean, pretty spacious and quaint. Took a little while for the hot water to get to our room, but not too bad. Not surprised by this due to age of hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

It was a cute, and unique little place. I loved the atmosphere. Though the beds were a little stiff, and the roku tv did not have the roku remote and the local tv remote only allowed 1 channel. My kid was not excited about that. Otherwise great experience. Also, very thin walls could hear people in the halls and outside.

Honestly I had a great stay I loved the vibe of the hotel and how spacious and clean our room was And the shower had great water pressure and good heat That was a plus after coming from a music festival And I loved that it had a fully stocked kitchen we did use it but it was nice to know we could if we needed to The bed was very comfy I slept great My only issue I had was it seemed that the latches to one of our windows were broken so we weren't able to close them and it did get a bit noisy due to all the local bars close by and but other than that I had a great stay and will definitely book here again

Room was not bad. Parking outside to unload was difficult as it is downtown and the parkings up front were already taken. We were unsure if the cars parked up front belonged to people starting at the hotel or otherwise. No front desk staff although they do provide information close to check in to get inside the building. If you want to speak to a live person, no one available on site. They do allow off-site parking a few streets down for a fee.

It was ok

This hotel made accommodations for me the weekend of my stay which made my vacations a lot more enjoyable. It was clean and quiet . Thoroughly enjoyed my stay .

The hotel is in a historic building which has no elevator. The rooms are spacious and beautiful!! Tracy is amazing and answered all the questions I had!!
