Tinkerbells hideaway is lovely. It is very spacious and we loved the open fire place. The bed is really comfortable, great water pressure and plenty of hot water for the shower/spa. Lots of little outdoor verandahs/balcony’s to enjoy. The kitchen is well equipped including nice serving platters and dipping bowls etc so you can enjoy a nice afternoon/evening in. The location is quiet but close to the marina and everything you need/want. We had a beautiful little getaway and would recommend without question.

Very comfy cabin style room, close walk to Dutchies Beach and short stroll to Nelson bay township and Mariner. Quite a nice comfy bed and adequate bathroom, lovely little Spa room and I would recommend for a quiet romantic getaway.

Great cosy quiet and relaxing stay. Not yur normal hotel but more like yur housitting. Decor, furniture, aplliances just like a home away from home. Short stroll along the walkway which is opposite apartment into the marina area.

Unique place with spiral staircase to mezzanine bedroom, leafy courtyard, relaxing and romantic place.

The location is perfect. You can walk into town and to Dutchies Beach. The accommodation really needs to be updated. Kitchen sink was rusted, staircase banister missing paint, bed had dents on each side from overuse and was really uncomfortable. The number of ornaments really needs to be reduced so there are workable surfaces available and less dust.

Nelson Bay is a great location, with many local attractions.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The courtyard with BBQ and outdoor spa was surrounded with lots of trees+plants. The large lounge area with high ceiling felt spacious and homely.

This accommodation is different to the usual. It has a loft for sleeping with spiral stairs which can be dangerous to navigate in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. If this is not an issue for you its a great place to stay close to the beach and restaurants.

The instructions explaining how you gain entry needs reading a few times to get your head around what hoop you need to jump through so you can get a key to your property (other side of Nelson Bay). The room had strange stuffed animals and kids toys displayed in various places. Which we found strange it being an adults only 'boutique stay'. The furniture, including bed, were average. The bathroom was nice and felt cleaner than the rest of house. Dusting, window cleaning and mopping required. The best thing about the stay was that it was quite.

There were 31 steps from minimal car space to the room. Not very good for someone with bad knees, a lot of Christmas luggage, presents etc. and after we requested ground floor accommodation. The bathroom wind out window was jammed open and when the weather turned nasty, it blew a gale through the unit. The kitchenette was minimal with no room to prepare food, no room to put out plates. The little bar frig (not able to cope with Christmas food) was turned off when we arrived and had defrosted and was flooded, but we could not get the tray full of water out as the door did not open wide enough to do so. The kettle and toaster were powered through a multi plug extension lead board which was not electrically safe for such high current appliances. We set up a computer on the little table then had no where to eat, except outside on the balcony! There was no wardrobe, just 2 pegs on the wall. There were 2 lights blown on arrival, they were repaired. There were cockroaches, one seen crawling over the computer mouse and one was in a glass of orange juice left on the bedside table overnight. We bought our own baits and saw several dying cockroaches around over the next few days. After having complained about this after our arrival we were offered a refund, but we were unable to find replacement accommodation over the Christmas week at short notice, so we stayed put and suffered.

I went for some peace and quiet and the opportunity to reflect and rest, which I was able to achieve.

Lovely old weatherboard cottage in a quiet street close to Nelson Bay marina and shops and a short walk to Dutchman’s Beach but be warned, the area is hilly! Although on most websites the accommodation is listed as ‘Casablanca Enchanted Cottage’, the sign at the cottage reads ‘Wisteria Cottage’. A little confusing at first! We stayed in light-filled Fairy House apartment, which was at the rear of the cottage. It has an interesting octagonal layout with a good sized bathroom running off the kitchenette, and a loft sleeping area. The tight spiral stairs up to the loft are reasonably steep, particularly when attempting a bathroom dash in the middle of the night. The secret here is not to dash! The decor was very tired-looking and in serious need of an update. The fairy-themed cushions and display toys seemed more like they’d be at home in a child’s playroom than an adults-only accommodation venue. Ditto the dusty looking ‘doll’ painting hanging over the apartment entrance. Several candle stands (and matches) were provided, but no candles. Also, there was a DVD player but no library of DVDs. No books or magazines were provided either. The outside courtyard was reasonably private and leafy (but shared with mosquitoes), although the verandah of the ‘Tinkerbell’s Hideaway’ overlooked it. The spa was fantastic but in an outside spa room accessed via the courtyard - so bathrobes may be an idea (not provided). The garden was generous and leafy but was in need of some maintenance

The room doesn't have fly screen so it was not possible to have fresh air coming in without being bombarded by flies and mozzies. The air con took aaaaaaaaages to cool the room

We choose this cottage because seemed strangely low rated although accommodation photos looked great and by a 5 min. walking distance to quite beach... We wanted to know why... This accommodation is unlike large , industrial hotels or mass tourist accommodations. We above all appreciated the "Home like feeling" environment with personal decoration touches. We felt like living in some cocoon of ours...

had a spiral stair case to get to our room. If I knew I wouldn't have booked that room. Over all it does need some maintance.

This is the best place I have ever stayed in. We had a lovely time. Highly recommend.

Property could do with a bit of TLC. Some interior fittings are showing signs of wear and tear. Had issues with lights throughout the unit. Overhead lights in the kitchen and main living area did not work (had to use a torch at times to see).

The cottage ticked all the boxes for a cosy interlude being central to a lot of the attractions of Port Stephens. It contained everything you needed to self cater and an open fire that was a treat on a winter's night

The Spa was outside in the cold. There is no toilet in the bedroom, you have to come down a metal rickety stairs and walk across the living area to go to the toilet. Imagine if you are 50+ and get up a few times at night.... We slept in the living room. Had a very uncomfortable night. Next day when we spoke to the Hostess - she immediately offered us alternative accommodation. She was the best kindest and very hospitable person. I did not like the fairy cottage but I loved the second accommodation and would recommend speaking to the Hostess directly to book your accommodation so that she can match one of the places to your needs and requirements.
