Le Scotsman est un hôtel forminable. Leur propriétaire sont des gens qui font cela avec leur coeur. Les chambres sont vonfortable. Leur produits de toilettes comme gel douche et shampoing sont de hautes game. Le Scotsman a une tradition d'offrir un verre de vin (blanc ou rouge) a leur invité sur la. terrace pour socialise. Nous avons adoré notre séjour et cela a été un bijou de découverte un gros merci encore une fois pour cet bel accueil

This is a lovely place to stay. The property is very well cared for, clean, and charming. Our room was well appointed with beautiful linens, boutique body products, and the bed was so comfortable! The hosts are friendly and full of local knowledge which they are more than happy to share. I highly recommend this property!

Wonderful rooms, spotlessly clean and every little detail thought of even down to a black facecloth to use to remove makeup if necessary or any other ‘messy’ job to save the beautiful white towels etc. Ample parking. Breakfast was continental, warm croissants made by Cathy, served with flair by Sandy dressed in his kilt in a stunning dining room. A wonderful source of information too with suggested routes to get the best from your visit. Thanks for a wonderful stay and maybe bump into you both sometime in Dumfries and Galloway.

The room was cozy and clean. The attention to details definitely noted. The breakfast with other guests and Sandy was informative and fun. Definitely recommend the Scotsman it is the BEST!!

This was simply AMAZING… Sandy was there to welcome us and show us around. The place is spotless and the details right down to the kind of shampoo was over the top. We will certainly recommend to all our friends and family. Thank you again !!

The hotel is beautiful!

The owners of this property have put alot of effort into having guests feel like one big family and to feel looked after. Sandy personally served everyone their breakfast in such a classy yet friendly way, in a formal dining room complete with china and all the trimmings. It was a very special experience.

Sandy!!!! He makes the stay special & goes out of his way to inform you on the area history & things to see. Cathy’s croissants are amazing. You need to do to have breakfast served by a man in a kilt.

Beautiful old building. The room was excellent, with great finishes. Washroom was functional, if small. Lots of steps to get to the 3rd floor.

Too much Sandy! While this is a nicely appointed and restored building, the host, Sandy, is just too much. While he was pleasant and accommodating in small doses, when we were alone with him over breakfast things became unpleasant. He simply needs to be the centre of attention at all times. And when discussion strayed to politics ( he’s a big Trump fan) and I expressed a contrary view, he presumed to “know exactly how I think” even though he hadn’t really paid attention to anything I had said up until then. My wife became very stressed and we just hightailed it out of there. Earlier in the conversation Sandy went on for an uncomfortably long time about how he loves to make clever or insulting replies to people who post negative reviews. So I will be interested to see what he does with this. Over to you, Sandy.

Classic building with comfortable bed and great patio and garden. The host is a gregarious Scot. Pictou is small but charming with many old buildings and a nice waterfront.

We very much enjoyed our two night stay at The Scotsman’s Inn. Sandy and Cathy were convivial hosts and provided us with a lot of helpful advice on areas of local interest and our journey onwards to Cape Breton. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and the bed/mattress was very comfortable. The Inn had been lovingly restored and was full of character. A small improvement for us would have been the provision of natural yoghurt and decaf coffee for breakfast.

Breakfast was very nice and served with style by Sandy in his kilt. As the owners are the sole employees there was no flexibility with check in time (and we got an ear full arriving less than 5 mins early). The Owner is also very vocal on political opinions which raised eyebrows with us and several guests. All in all, it was a fair stay.
