Beautiful, clean and quiet guesthouse. My room felt quite luxurious.

Everywhere was clean, we had a family room, well equipped with all needed. Could do with new pillows for bed and new towels. Struggling to get in room, rang number and was all sorted very quickly, very helpful. Would stay again!

Clean room, one nights stay. Was able to park my motorcycle in the front of the property off the road

Room was comfy, warm and clean. Town and shops, pubs and restaurants on doorstep.

The bed is too high. Staff is nice. Walls too thin.

Convenient and plenty of off road parking. Slight hick- up initially as unable to enter front door. Phoned 2 numbers which were suppied on door but no answer. Eventually realised we had missed the star character off the number. Lovely room with plenty of tea and coffee. Slight issue with hot water as unable to get it very hot, lukewarm only so shower a bit tricky and couldn't find a non slip bath mat. Really enjoyed our stay though, overall great value for money

A clean, warm and tidy accommodation which is convenient for walking down into Buxton centre. We stayed just one night for an Opera House theatre show and it was great for that. On street parking nearby was easy.

I have stay in a number of guest houses over the years and this nowhere meets that expectation. It is impersonal as you let yourself in (with difficulty), saw no one, including the owner. We weren't the only ones struggling to enter. A family arrived soon after expecting to see someone and I told them the key had been left in there room door, to their amazement. There is no breakfast provided. Whilst there were 2 people one could ring it was only if you were in difficulty. Whilst the room was well furnished, it didn't make up for the total misrepresentation and I suggest the owner spends some time looking at how other guest houses in the UK.

Room clean and lots of storage. Ideal location closecto shops,restaurants,pubs and public transport.

Staff member Anne was delightful , friendly and helpful . Very good ambassador for Compton house . Room was good , beds just a bit too high for getting in and out . ( for us smaller people ) bathroom shower was not draining away so could not have shower on second morning ! Not good !!! Tried to pull the core out to clean it but it was stuck in the plug hole !! Just a note - mirrors in room and bathroom are all too high . Good all round property and room with a good standard of decor . As I say Anne was the only person we saw and she was lovely to chat to about the area and where to go and see . Lovely lady .

Had a lovely 2 night stay at Compton guesthouse. Clean and comfortable very large room with ensuite bathroom (including a bathtub) lovely victorian building. Didnt see any staff during our stay but this was not an issue as given check in instructions via text message. Short walk to centre with numerous bars and restraunts. Will definitely stay again.

Room was adequate but not as good as photos. Dark room, no light over tea/coffee area and needs updating throughout. However for the money what more could we expect?

Beds are high. But the room is totally ok.Need to use the road for parking.

Well presented within walking distance of town centre, pub's and restaurants. Anne/Dave 😆(building manager) was lovely, she worked hard to keep the place so clean and nothing was a problem if you asked 😉 stairs were challenging to the top floor but we managed and wi-fi was a bit sketchy (none at all in our room) hopefully it will be sorted by the owner. All in all a lovely place to stay ♥️
