We stayed for 3 nights in May while visiting Italy. I can't say enough positive things about the Ara Maris. We were in a room overlooking the rear pool/garden with a private hot tub. We did not miss viewing the sea as we'd seen it throughout the day. The room was spacious and we especially appreciated the double sinks and the separate water closet. The room was well appointed (above and beyond other 5 stars) with flip flops, tote for the pool and a Dyson hair dryer. Appreciated the fresh water that was restocked each day. Room was spotless, inside and on the patio. Front desk and concierge staff were incredibly helpful and took care of anything we needed. They arranged a private driver to Positano and arranged transport by golf cart to the ferry and to dinner. The location is EXCELLENT. A very very short walk to the historic center with all the restaurants and shops. Breakfast was excellent with many options including made to order eggs. And the baked goods each day were incredible- we were eating dessert for breakfast each day! Would not hesitate to recommend.

Lovely hotel, amazing views, manicured gardens, excellent staff, (Carmen, Martina, Connie, Gaetano, Valentina, Laura, Roberta to mention but a few) good spa. However, there were 2 major issues which were not in keeping with a 5* at this price point: 1) there is a huge unattached manhole on the road in front of the hotel which makes a racket every time a car drives over it and keeps you up at night through the night; 2) a horrible drain stench from the toilet / bidet in the rooms. To the hotels credit, they moved my room (which unfortunately did not alleviate either issue) and then offered me a complimentary massage which was excellent. Would go back again if they addressed both of these issues.

Staff was excellent, room was clean and spacious, convenient and short distance to main area of the town. Excellent hotel.

We went here for new years they had an incredible party with delish food, spa was awesome, and sorrento is just a beautiful town, we went in winter i wish to come back for summer

Beautiful hotel and great location

We had a fantastic experience at Ara Maris Hotel & Spa. The entire staff was genuinely welcoming, and the service throughout our stay was exceptional. The rooms were spotless, modern, and extremely comfortable. Everything felt fresh, clean, and thoughtfully maintained. A special shoutout to Julia at the front desk – she was amazing. She went out of her way to accommodate our family and made sure our kids had double rooms right next to us, which made our stay so much smoother. Her warm attitude and professionalism truly set the tone for the trip. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. We will definitely be coming back!

Great room and bed

Very professional and accommodating staff.

We were only able to stay two nights, but would have enjoyed staying more. The property is in a wonderful location just off the town Square and the staff are fantastic. They have an excellent breakfast on site and a beautiful pool and surrounding patio with a small spa and a nice gym downstairs. Well worth your consideration if you find yourself traveling to the beautiful town of Sorrento Italy.

We have just enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Ara Maris, staff friendly and extremely helpful. Hotel positioned in the centre of Sorrento but provided a quiet calm space away from the many tourists in town.

Hotel is newly renovated, clean, and the staff are very attentive and pleasant. The spa was excellent and the food as well. 5*****

Amazing property. We have stayed at another five star property in Sorrento. It was sold out. I remember walking by Ara Maris. Happy we booked with this hotel. Location was walkable, quiet, clean our room had a very large balcony. More of a modern hotel. Gym was new and very clean. Very happy with our stay. Would recommend! Have fun!

Hotel muito bom e bem localizado. Atendimento excelente. Ponto negativo, nos colocaram no primeiro andar em frente a rua, nao tinhamos nenhuma privacidade. Compramos vista jardim e nos colocaram vista rua.

Wonderful hotel, beautiful, clean and modern. The Staff were attentive and very friendly.

Overall, this is a real 5* hotel with good location and a luxury vibe….. But…. God exists in the little things which make the difference and for sure, he was not there. Breakfast is very good, but served only from 07:30 AM. Normally, there are trips and activities in the area that starts earlier, so you must skip breakfast if you book one. They tried to charge us 3 days of parking (35 euros per day), although we used the parking only for 40 hours. If we hadn’t insisted, we had paid another day without justification. When we came back from our outdoor activity, we asked to use the shower. We felt like someone was doing for us a favor. The guest is the most important resource of the hotel and we haven’t felt like this.
