Was lovely hotel super tidy and clean was just in the middle of heatwave and only had one little fan which made the room ridiculously hot and did kinda struggle to sleep

Clean room, good location, everything was self served and self explanatory.

This was our first time staying at a hotel that wasn't staffed. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The accommodations were very modern. Plenty of hot water. Easy access to both train and bus stations. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants and grocery stores. Quiet. We didn't hear street noise. Stairs are steep, as others have noted. Google Maps doesn't pin the location precisely, so look for the sign. We also recommend Köz Turkish Restaurant for a fabulous evening meal, Cafe N Joy for a simple breakfast or lunch, and hiking the Motorway up Pen Y Fan.

Close to bike park wales. Town is dead and no shops open nearby past 5pm. Short walk to restaurant chains

Only negative was the stairs, which I knew about after I had booked. Very steep and lack of hand rails on some parts

Room and facilities very good. Access? Disappointed you may offer a luxury room but access is not what you would expect too many difficult steps . Your advice on dining out very good.

Incredible decor, there isn’t one small detail which Howfield Hotel has missed! Amazed by the thought of the little touches to the decor. Very pretty rooms. Very clean and easy to get to from the public car park. Great restaurant choices around the hotel too. Highly recommended.

The bathroom was damp, the bedside lamp didn’t work and the room was so hot we had to have the windows open. However, the street was so noisy we’ve had the worst nights sleep in a long time. We put the fan on, but it’s broken meaning there was no way to cool our dog now. Would not recommend

Easy to access, parking can be a problem but you will always get in the Castle car park but involved a longer walk, best to drop your stuff off at the barrier outside the digs & then park up. Overall great accommodation would definitely stay again

The rooms at the Howfield were exactly as described in the photos. very comfortable bed, good hot shower with good flow and very clean. the housekeeping staff were polite, cheerful and helpful. communication and check in was completed efficiently via text messages with quick responses ( we asked for an early check in and the room was ready for us ) I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again

The hotel was better than we were expecting. The boutiques style room was comfortable and served its purpose for a one night stopover. Good price. would recommend.

No parking only down road a bit far if you can’t walk far or disabled also stairs very steep and too many lorries turning up at 5am for deliveries and people screaming and shouting late at night from 2 public houses down the road and to top it all from 7am Monday and Tuesday morning young school children waiting for restaurant Haystack to open for school club the hotel itself is excellent condition very high specification finish very clean condition no hot water till 8am
