Lovely hotel had an enjoyable stay .

A very comfortable stay. We arrived late and had a friendly check in. The hotel was very clean and our room was comfortable with everything we needed. A good breakfast the next morning too. Will absolutely stay again.

Nice country inn style accomodation with good breakfast. Not very accessible for guests with physical handicaps.

Friendly helpful staff. I travelled with my dog and she was made very welcome - even getting her own sausage at breakfast. Great shower in the room. Would stay again when passing through. The only downside was the uncomfortable pillows.

This was a great value Hotel and we will have no hesitation in booking again. Nothing elaborate and in a fairly old building, this hotel offered everything you will need. The stairs to our room at the top were steep but the bed was comfortable, the shower hot and the towels large and fluffy. Tea and coffee with a kettle were in the room. The breakfast included was really lovely. Full English with extras included. The town was in walking distance with pubs, shops, restaurants and an excellent Fish and Chip take away or eat in which we thoroughly enjoyed. The New Forest was on the doorstep. A great position for access to all we wanted. We will definitely be booking again when we next visit the area.

Small single room but airy and comfortable. Road noise was a bit of a problem but not unbearable. Would stay here again.

The room was a nice size single, temperature was comfortable (they also provided me with a fan), bathroom was a good size and clean, shower was powerful, windows that opened, tv which had Netflix etc, little bit noisy from the road but that couldn’t be helped with the location, staff were lovely, check in was easy, plenty of parking, great location to walk into Lyndhurst. The only thing that let it down for me was the entrance to the room (which is at the top of the stairs) isn’t very well insulated and I could hear every conversation and door slam of people walking past and unfortunately when I stayed I was woken up at around 5, so I suggest earplugs if you are a light sleeper, but other than that overall a good stay. Nice breakfast too.

The hotel was situated within a lovely town just a few miles outside of Southampton. There was plenty of parking to the rear of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helped me out on a couple of things. The room itself seemed to be in converted loft space with the sloped walls making me feel like Gandalf in a hobbit's house and yes I did bang my head a couple of times as a result. There was a fusty smell from the bathroom which disappeared after leaving the door open. During a particularly warm day, there was a fan in the room but the cooler option was to open the Velux style windows which provided a much-needed cross breeze. The shower was a little pathetic to be honest. There was a cornucopia of dining options available within a mile of the hotel and I ate at the Crown Stirrup which was very enjoyable. Breakfast was largely forgettable. The décor was quite tired around the hotel and especially in the bathroom so I didn't feel there was a lot of value to the stay.

Great location in easy walking distance to the main street shopping and restaurants. Our room was spacious and clean. We were on road side so did have the traffic noise, which is no fault of the hotel, our friend had a back facing room which was quiet, so suggest if you don't like traffic noise ask for a quieter room - we were happy with our room. Breakfast was excellent

The Penny Farthing Hotel is in easy walking distance to the High Street, our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent. We were street side and did have traffic noise but that was not an issue for us, or can the hotel stop the traffic all night!! We would definitely stay here again.
