Honest, true review.
The hotel welcome at reception was good, with the male member of staff taking us to our room and showing us around.
We had one of the Mad Hatter self catering cottages. The cottages are clearly in need of an update, with paint flaking off of walls, creaky stained floorboards and stains on chair cushions.
What we paid was reasonable for what we got, being a three bedroom cottage during half term.
Unfortunately for us, the main room at the front was absolutely unbearable with the road noise. People who walked past, we heard every word of their conversation and could even hear the road noise with our ear plugs in. We ended up having to move the mattress into the lounge to block out the noise. The hotel was full so we couldn’t ask to be moved.
The location however is fantastic if you love being in Lyndhurst. Only a short couple of minutes walk into the centre.
We didn’t eat the breakfast as this wasn’t included with the cottages.
