the hotel staff were friendly and the rooms clean. No elevators if stairs are an issue. Very old decrepit inn. Road too busy to walk and nothing of interest in the area. You must need your own car if you stay at this inn. Lastly the food in the resteraunt was yucky.

Really great place to stay , perfect for getting into Oxford city , big rooms with everything you need , clean , lovely old pub with lots of charm , loads of parking , friendly staff , dog friendly

This was a perfect relaxing stopover after a very hectic business day. The staff were very helpful & welcoming. The food was of a very good standard,really enjoyed!

Hotel could use an update

Attractive pub/restaurant/hotel in a very pleasant rural location close to Abingdon. Good bar. Friendly staff. Large, clean family room with comfortable beds and a good shower. Everything we needed for a 2 night stay.

Lovely rooms and great food although it's weird that the pub closes so early.

This was our 9th time here, as a group of fellow motorcyclists, this place is a Central meeting place for all of us. The Dog house could do with a lick of paint, but it is clean. Good selection of drinks, decent meals and a good breakfast.

The staff here avoided air fresheners at my request, and avoided putting the radiator on. The room was still warm in November. It’s in a lovely rural setting. I would love to stay for pleasure next time.

Room was dated and in need of decorating and updating. Was freezing cold and radioator wasn't working. There was however an electric heater in the cupboard which did warm the room quickly. Food in pub was good though and staff were pleasant and helpful.

The staff!!!! Absolutely amazing. The bar manager and all the staff were so welcoming and personable! What an amazing stay. Also, beds soooo comfortable!!! We will stay here any time!!!!!

They advertise air conditioning. There was none. It was ridiculously hot in a third floor room.

Cosy but modern country pub. Good location for exploring Oxfordshire.

Expedia said The Dog House had air conditioning, it did not. Food was good, staff was pleasant.

Wonderful little place. Steve and his team took great care of us. After a long day of sightseeing and driving it was a perfect place to reach before next day in Oxford. The Beer in the garden after check in was most enjoyable.

Nice friendly pub/hotel. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Good food and free wifi. Bar and hotel staff all very helpful and friendly.

I chose the property for being 30 mins from Blenheim Palace - the reason for my visit. I liked that there was a free car park. Check-in was quick and staff were pleasant and gave me all key info I needed - breakfast, booked a table for dinner, emergency phone number. My room was clean and tidy, but was very hot opening or closing the window didn't make any difference. I only stayed one night, but there was plenty of hanging space for clothes. Dinner was ok reasonable choice of pub food menu. All 3 of us enjoyed our meals.
