Beautiful traditional ryokan. Stayed for two nights with the full kaiseki dinners and breakfasts. Meals did not repeat. Staff were incredibly kind. Highly recommend for a traditional Japanese experience.

¡La habitación está increíble! En realidad son dos partes de la habitación, una para dormir y otra para comer, cada una es grandísima y la vista al mini jardín interior hace el ambiente muy íntimo y muy local. Solo mencionar que desde la habitación y el jardín no se ve ni el parque ni los venados, pero no por ello es menos espectacular la habitación. El servicio es muuuy esmerado y están atentos a cualquier necesidad en todo momento. Está situado justo a la entrada del parque de Nara, lo que lo hace ideal para planear tus recorridos en distintos horarios y aprovechar al máximo el parque y las instalaciones. Tienen Onsen, y también el baño de la habitación es un mini-onsen, con lo que yo quedé fascinada. Ofrecen media pensión, vale la pena probar la cena tradicional con 12 platillos. Súper recomendable.

Hvis du har lyst til at prøve en rigtig traditional kro i japan (Roykan) så er du kommet det rigtige sted hen. Personalet er virkelig venlige og hjælpsomme, stedet har en virkelig traditional følelses og så var te ceremonien, når man ankommer, virkelig hyggelig.

One of, if not the top, hotel experience I have ever had. Phenomenal hospitality, and a truly unique and lovely atmosphere. Food was spectacular as well.

The staff went out of their way to not just accommodate our needs but anticipate them. I have stayed at hundreds of lodgings in my life and have never experienced such perfect customer service and hospitality.

Clean room, accommodating staff members, excellent location beside the park

This was such a beautiful, luxurious and calm home for our stay in Nara. The park with bowing deer and magnificent giant Buddha are less than 5min walk away. The atmosphere is magical and calming. The Kaiseke dinner is very authentic - there were several dishes my teen would not eat and some I didn’t either - but it was an experience worth having once. Otherwise best to go for a local tavern style restaurant or sushi place for a fraction of the price. The public bath at the hotel is regular water not Onsen - natural spring - and it’s fine but rather basic. Nara is a must for any trip to Japan. We booked only one night but wish we could have had two for an even more relaxed experience.

Excellent service and staff

A true and well located ryokan right next to Nara Park and 10 minutes walking from the Kintetsu train station. Wonderful experience incl the keitatsu dinner experience. Sleeping was ok as it’s more of a cushion than a mattress on the floor

Extraordinary location , right in the park and 5 minutes from a bunch of restaurants. Great, very large suite and so Japanese. Good breakfast, and super nice staff

Fun experience in a traditional Japanese hotel. The dinner and lunch were great. Being right in the park made it super easy to visit the temple and feed the deer. The public bath is on the smaller side, but does the job. They called us a cab to the train station when we checked out which was nice.

Room was cosy and the staff very acommodating and nice! Language barriers were easily overcome with Google Translate when needed. Unfortunately neither dinner or breakfast was to our liking, and we consider ourselves to be quite open for new food and tastes. It was our first meal with food of this kind, so difficult for us to rate if this is what it should taste like, or if the chef had a bad day.

Beautiful place with the friendliest and most accommodating staff. Great spacious and comfortable traditional rooms.

The Shikitei is right on the edge of Nara Park - essentially it is in the park. In terms of position it couldn't be better. It had all the comforts of a ryokan including a great onsen bath,, and wonderful staff. I can't recommend it more highly.
