This hotel exceeded expectations. The gardens were beautiful!!!

Enjoyed our stay here very much. Beautiful grounds and lots of character. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent.

Amazing hotel with brilliant service

Gorgeous historic property. The entire staff couldn’t have been more helpful and gracious. We’ll definitely stay here again next time we’re near Heathrow. Very convenient….only 8 miles away.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel and grounds were truly stunning. The room was spacious and nice even though we weren't in the main building. The pool was great. Staff were helpful overall. Breakfast was a massive let down. And the food we ordered through room service was just OK.

What we liked most was the beautiful and expansive grounds, gardens and amazing hedge features

Arrived at the hotel at 1:30pm as checkin was not until 3pm we sat in the bar and waited. Looking around the staff seemed flustered, stressed and any requests felt like a bit too much trouble. At 3pm went to check in and was told the room was still not ready. Only then were we allowed to use the facilities I.e outdoor pool.(would it have been too much trouble to offer this at 1:30pm?) we were told they would find us when the room was ready. At 6pm still no sign of staff so went to reception to check in, thankfully the room was ready and the staff acknowledged the delay by providing us with a late check out. We were also informed at check in that the restaurant was fully booked so would have to go elsewhere for dinner. Upon being show to the room 2 air con units were available, these were both turned on whilst we went for dinner but upon returning to the room it must have been in excess of 45 degrees. This made sleeping incredibly difficult. At midnight the fire alarm went off, followed by 2 hours of wedding guests shouting outside the front of the hotel. Meanwhile the temperature in the room was inhumane. This hotel advertises air con but this should be removed from the website! The children swimming times state on the website 8-10am however children were in the pool all day. Beware if you are booking a spa day as it won’t be as relaxing as you want! Upon check out the staff didn’t even ask how the stay was. Probably because they had received so many complaints

This is a lovely hotel. Stunning views great pool but a nightmare trip No pool acces until you have checked in so that could be 3:00 p.m. and after check out (11am) They appear to prioritise pool days and other customers ove guests which means book food early I'm surprised we even got fed but when we did it was overpriced and frankly inedible. Took 30 minutes to get a drink 1 hour to get our food and they blamed the wedding If it's sunny avoid rooms in the main house they are so hot you can't sleep in them and that's with them supplying cheap Aircon. In fairness one lady manager did give us a money off for the nightmare of the stay and she was the one good person there This hotel clearly prioritises the day pool packages over aguests even put spend was over £500. The second day was not much better with the pool area refusing to take food orders I'm guessing due once again then prioritising the day guests Considering they knew it was going to be a hot day this hotel could have easily added more staff who were all overdressed in uniform for the weather Hotel needs to up its game

After a shaky start the stay at Great Fosters was good. The hotel was full on my first night and unfortunately the room is been allocated had several issues. The staff were unable to move rooms but reassured me I'd be moved first thing in the morning. The second room was much better and the change over was handled well. A good measure of a hotel is how they handle when things go wrong, and the team at Great Fosters stepped up and made it right. The other aspects of Great Fosters are excellent. Both restaurants are very good, having eaten in the Grill first night and Tudor Pass the second. Food and service in both were great. The pool area is really special, a huge outdoor heated pool in a very chic setting, reflecting the style and famous guests of the 40s and 50s. The gardens are immaculate and a real joy to walk around. Car parking is good, and I made use of the electric chargers - though they are a little hidden. Overall a very good hotel with friendly and helpful staff. A good spot just outside London, close to Heathrow, and somewhere I will definitely consider for flights to and from there.

Check-in was slow and check-out were slow, only one member of staff on check-out. However the venue is wonderful, staff are friendly, helpful, polite and professional. The room was wonderful and we had a lovely event and stay-over.

This is an extraordinary property – one of a kind. For anyone interested in or pleased by historic milieux this is a must-stay hotel. Features in the grounds date to Anglo-Saxon times and the main building to Tudor times. Even the 1930's changing huts by the pool are heritage-designated. Most of the staff were also excellent, notably the cheerful, accommodating receptionists (we needed an electric space heater as the weather was so unseasonably cold that the ordinary room heating system couldn't cope – this heater was delivered to our room with many apologies). The lads running the cocktail bar were also friendly.

The English garden here is wonderful and it distinguishes the hotel from all others. I truly hope that the management does not cut the costs to keep it beautiful.

What a stay! From the approach the hotel is spectacular, followed by the staff. Every member of staff we spoke to was incredibly polite and professional. I would like to call out the lady who served our drinks from the cocktail bar as well as the restaurant from the Tudor Pass, both were absolutely exceptional. One final mention of the chef at the Pass, just wow, not just the meal but the story for every plate and the link to the region and hotel. An utterly exceptional place, stay and staff and we will most certainly be repeat customers

Always love staying here ! The accommodation is beautifully presented and maintained and the staff and food just excellent . Just wish there were steam room and SPA facilities available other than the treatments . Also super convenient for Heathrow without being a run of the mill airport hotel

Restaurant very good food - amazing garden and grounds

We enjoyed lunch in the Garden Room to celebrate a special birthday . Food very good, Chris our waiter was excellent. Overnight stay, room very clean - only problem that is too hot despite turning off heating and opening a window

Breakfast was delicious and very pleasant and held people there to help too.

Beautiful and close to Heathrow, the perfect place to stay before departing for New York between London and the U.S. I absolutely loved the grounds and the gardens, even in the winter. The wood and detailing of the manor were lovely, and the wood gireplaces and Christmas decor was so perfect.
