The hotel itself was modern, clean, and perfectly suitable for our one-night stay.
Unfortunately, our experience with the front desk staff let it down. The two male receptionists came across as unhelpful and, at times, bordering on rude.
The hotel advertises parking, but it's extremely difficult to find because it isn't located on the same road as the hotel entrance. Trying to navigate the city's one-way streets and no-entry roads while searching for it was stressful. When we went into reception to ask for directions, we were simply pointed in the general direction with very little explanation, rather than being told that the car park is on a different street and is operated by two separate attendants who take your keys and park the car for you.
After eventually finding it and handing our keys to two strangers, we returned to reception looking for reassurance that this was, in fact, the correct arrangement. Instead of reassuring us, the receptionists spoke to each other in Italian and laughed, which made us feel uncomfortable. We were clearly hot, stressed, tired and struggling because of the lack of clear parking instructions, so a little patience and understanding would have gone a long way.
With clearer information about parking and a more welcoming attitude from reception, our stay would have been a much more positive experience.
