glad we got a room downstairs. quite comfortable. Gwen was lovely

We didn't even stay here! This property was misleading. Lots of stairs to climb to the room. The place is very old and not in a safe area - padlocks on gates to get in and out and barbed wire all around. The inside is run down and quite creepy. False advertising on Wotif!

We stayed hrre for two nights because we thought it would be a quirky heritage building with some character. The room was described as fully self contained with a bath. Unfortunately there was no bath and only a shared bathroom which had not been made clear. There was also a shared kitchen and we only found out that there was a laundry avaiaible downstairs at the rear of the building on the morning we were leaving. Access to the site was through a gate with a chain and padlock. This was very awkward when we returned at night because there was no light to help locate the lock and it gave the impression that we were breaking into the site. The room we had was Unit 1 and it was fairly spacious and comfortable if not a bit dated with front deck located above the street footpath. The bowling club was across the road and it had a chinese restaurant dining room that served nice meals. There were a couple of reviews of this place on other websites that gave glowing reviews that we thought were over the top that appeared to come from Katoomba which coincidentally was where the owners live. It was certainly a different place to stay but would have preferred the description to be a bit more honest.

I don't intend to go into my holiday other than to say i enjoyed myself.No thanks to wotif who i would never use again
