Hotel manager and his wife work very hard to maintain the hotel. Someday I would like to visit Cooktown Motel again.

We stayed in Cooktown for two nights at your poorly maintained motel. The room did not look like it had been cleaned, the shower had its own personal fountain and needed maintenance. There were no towels at all. For the price of the basic room with its kitchenette was ridiculous. Definitely not recommend this motel to anyone.

Super nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Wir habe bei unserer Ankunft gleich ein paar Tips fürs Sightseeing bekommen. Das Zimmer war sauber und gemütlich, jedoch, wie bei den meisten Motels, mit ein bisschen Sanierungsstaus. Leider war der Pool bei unserem Aufenthalt wegen Renovierungsarbeiten gesperrt. Dies war aber auch hier bei Hotels.com benannt, was ich leider übersehen hatte.

The manager was very friendly and helpful.

It is a safe location that is quiet at night. Onsite parking, aircon works fine and share facilities are fine. Close to the main strip.

This property has the feel of a hostel but it is clean and has a camp kitchen which is extensively equipped. Initially we had an issue with keys fitting doirs and room not made up. The host imnediately upgraded us, with apology, to a room with an ensuite and fully equipped kitchen. The facility to cook food via the camp kitchen or in room is one we valued as the food choices in town were expensie and not to our taste. The bathrooms were well stocked with soaps, shampoos and body wash normally expected with higher cost hotels. The beds were very comfortable. The staff were amicable and helpful at all times. I would stay again.

Carparking is difficult when motel is full. Good for an overnight stay.

A lot of things need to either be updated, fixed and/or thoroughly cleaned.

Needs upgrade generally but even a little thing like the security chain on our door was hanging from one nail. Paint peeling from walls. Staff (Sue) was very nice but overall the place needs doing up

It's certainly a budget motel but the caretakers are lovely people. No toilet in the room I had so it was a communal amenities block which wasn't a problem. The pool looked really great but I didn't have a dip in it. The camp kitchen was the winner for me.

The best thing about this property is the people. Everyone I met was helpful, and the proprietor went out of her way to meet my needs. The property is undergoing some renovation following floods, but was able to provide a good quality bed, and better extras than I got in city properties.

Very run down, poor bedding linen

Great communication with the staff. Simple and effective accommodation

Older style motel. Great for short stay. Needs some maintenance but is being slowly renovated. Friendly staff. One problem was attended to immediately.
