The furniture was antique and very nice the room was a good size

This hotel is awesome. Restored to original with modern conveniences. It it stunningly beautiful, the rooms are comfortable with large 4-poster beds, lounges, spa baths, air con, block-out drapes, etc. the location is awesome, walking distance to the river, Main Street cafes and shops, the Great Western Pub, etc. loved our time at this hotel.

Luxurious and unique

I booked 5 nights at Denison Boutique Hotel but had to leave after 3 due to a terrible experience. The room had a persistent dripping shower tap right next to the bed, making it impossible to sleep. I reported it immediately and was told the hotel was already aware of the issue but couldn’t fix it or offer a new room. The manager was dismissive and unhelpful, telling me to “suck it up” and repeatedly suggesting I could leave if I wasn’t happy — without a refund. Despite eventually sending a tradie, the issue remained. The manager was rude, confrontational, and unprofessional in front of my child while she finally offered a room exchange. The facilities were run-down and the room lock was nearly broken. My daughter and I felt unsafe and unwelcome, so we checked out early and forfeited two nights’ payment. This was the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had in Australia. Absolutely not recommended.

Lovely hotel it’s like stepping back in time. The only thing that was a problem was carrying your luggage up all the stairs . This hotel has charm I would highly recommend staying there.

We had a lovely stay at the Denison Boutique Hotel. I love staying in heritage places. This hotel room was beautifully decorated! We loved it!

Luv the ambiance, it’s a great blast from the past. The accessible room needs work but the manager mentioned they were working on that. But otherwise a lovely place to stay. Will stay again, next visit to Rocky

The decor

We loved our stay - big surprise when we opened the door - huge comfortable canopy bed, gorgeous corner spa, lovely old fashioned decor, extra high ceilings, air con, friendly staff on check-in. We would definitely stay there again. (Location a bit noisy when the train went by outside but only happened twice and didn’t bother us or keep us awake as we didn’t hear any traffic throughout the night.)

Beautiful historic building and very friendly welcome. Being right on the train line is off putting at first but the traffic appeared to stop overnight. Unfortunately the room was somewhat neglected with a missing smoke detector, broken towel rail and frosted over freezer. Also the bed although huge was showing its age with a sagging mattress on the right side.

Stayed for one night on our way through and really enjoyed the stay. It was a gorgeous room that felt like being transported into another era, but with the mod cons that make for all you could need.
