This is a beautiful, beautiful place to stay. Isolated, quiet, peaceful and close to Wilpena and everything you need.

The propery surrounds where untidy and unkempt

We have stayed with Steve and Deb many times, the Flinders never loses its appeal. This time we invited our UK friends for a taste of the outback, we had 4 days in the Flinders, plenty of time to checkout the gorges etc. Unfortunately it rained and rained and we were restricted to the sealed roads only, sometimes the best laid, and longest laid plans just don't work out, perhaps next time.

Great place to stay.

The cottage was a good size for the four of us. Clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Peaceful surrounds on a property outside Hawker.

Only a very little way out of Hawker but so much better to stay than right in Wilpena pound A] because of cost much more economical & you can do your own cooking B]nwhen driving in and out of Wilpena so many of the sights are along the same Rd. So, plan what you want to see and plan your day trips. And remember : stay off the Rd from Dusk onward because of Kangaroos. Also watch out for Emus & their chicks they are around often all throughout the day and wander across the Road. Enjoy making a lifetime memories of a beautiful area.

Our stay at Windana Cottages was great, it was well appointed, clean and tidy. We were very impressed with the continental breakfast, its not something you get at a lot of places. I will be recommending this property to friends and family.

Well presented and easy to relax

Nice property. A couple of minor maintenance issues: blind slats in main room don’t rotate. Bathroom sink partly blocked. Main issue however was Deb and Steve seem over busy. I called and emailed prior to arrival to confirm booking, time etc. as this is a remote area. The phone was off, no response to email. As it turned out, others had mistakenly checked into my room, after speaking to Deb on the way in. She didn’t pick up that they were the wrong people arriving a day early. I know they get a parade of people through each week, but still, it would be good if they were more responsive and checked who was supposed to be arriving each day. All that said, Deb sorted out the issue promptly and no harm done. It is a nice place, beautiful view from the lounge room and tables and chairs out the front make a great place to enjoy breakfast.

If you want quiet out of town on your own (or with a friend) this js the place to come. Beautiful

We loved this property and would definitely stay again if in the area. A lovely cottage with a fully equipped kitchen with everything l could have needed. Bed was really comfortable and heater was good. Also a laundry close by . A beautiful view of the ranges was had as we enjoyed sitting by the open fire pit and watching kangaroos. Location was perfect. Two kms from hawker with peace and quiet.

The location is amazing! We spotted kangaroos next door on arrival. Far enough away from town to see all the stars in the night sky, but close enough for all your needs. The beds were comfortable, the shower was hot and the kitchen was basic but sufficiently stocked for cooking meals (we were a family of 5).

Loved the view and the location.

The location is close to town and quiet. Steve is a great host and the cottage was very comfortable with good beds, and many comfort touches. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days there.

The property was very clean and had everything we needed. Great location to explore the Flinders Ranges. Great communication with hosts and lots of helpful info in the cabin about places to explore. We loved it!

Feels remote and yet it's within easy walking distance to the township. The area is serene, the cottage clean and comfortable, hosts were very helpful and accommodating. There was even a coffee plunger. Highly recommend and hope to go back soon
