Beautiful, modern hotel right on the beach. The staff was fantastic, helping with our every need. The restaurant was the best we ate at in Belize. Try the herbed snapper and conch fritters. Also, great cocktails.

Staff service

Staff was great, really great. Probably the best restaurant on the island. My wife also liked the spa. Housekeeping was a bit uneven but got sorted out. The big problems are: (1) the furniture in the room was uncomfortable-you sit down on the furniture and there is so little padding you realize you’re sitting on the wood frame of every piece; and (2) for God’s sake put a decent coffee maker in the kitchen - not a WW2 relic.

Best hotel experience we have ever had. Rooms were clean, decorated nicely, the beach area is very convenient and well kept. Vanessa at the pool bar makes some amazing cocktails. The rooftop restaurant has great views and tasty food. Teresa at the front desk spoiled us by ensuring everything went smoothly, booked restaurant reservations and excursions for us, and was absolutely lovely to chat with. I can’t recommend the Ellysian enough, we would go back in a heart beat.

We had a wonderful stay at the Elysian Hotel in Placencia and can’t say enough about how warm and welcoming the staff were. Traveling with young kids can be challenging, but the team here went out of their way to make everything easy and comfortable for our family. From thoughtful help day-to-day to genuine kindness toward our children, it truly made a difference in our trip. Our room was spacious and easily accommodated our family of five, which is not always easy to find. Housekeeping was excellent—our room was always spotless—and the service at the bar was consistently friendly and attentive. Overall, the Elysian felt relaxed, well cared for, and very family-friendly. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it, especially for families traveling with kids.

We had an absolutely incredible experience at this beachfront hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming, and beautifully taken care of. The views were stunning — waking up to the sound of the ocean and watching the sunset from our balcony was pure magic. We have to give a special shout-out to Jose, who was truly amazing. He went above and beyond to make sure every part of our stay was perfect. Whether it was offering great local recommendations, checking in to ensure we had everything we needed, or just being incredibly friendly and professional, Jose made a huge difference. His genuine hospitality stood out and made us feel right at home. The rest of the staff were just as wonderful — attentive, cheerful, and always ready to help. Our room was spotless, the beds were comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. We also loved the beachside restaurant; the food was delicious and the atmosphere unmatched. Overall, this hotel exceeded every expectation. Beautiful location, excellent service, and truly memorable moments. We can’t wait to come back!

Wonderful place to stay! Highly recommended.

We had an overnight stay after a week at sea. We wish we stayed longer! The dinner was amazing with top notch service. The beachfront room was beautiful and the poolside bar was a nice touch. Wonderful property and amenities!

As ive seen in other reviews, very nice people here. However, the speed of service both at the resutaurant and regarding room cleaning and laundry services are quite slow. We came in summer, slower season. But it took an hour or more for each meal and our laundry took over 12 hours when they had said it would be done by the time we returned that day from an excursion leaving ys without clean laundry at night. Dinner at Muna had only 3 tables yer it took over an hour for our food to come out. 3 employees talked in front of house while we sat for hour straight and then food came out overcooked and it was frustratijng. In the end, the food tassted good but it was 2 hours by the time we left. I would recommend others to go there, as it's one of the nicest places in the area but be prepared to spend some time waiting on services. Our experience may not be the norm.

The hotel is probably one of the nicest in Placencia. The people that work there are wonderful, friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

This hotel was nothing short of amazing! Not only a great location, but top notch service the whole time you’re there. So convenient to everything that we didn’t have to rent a golf cart. Highly recommend and would stay here again!!

This is a clean hotel with some upscale amenities. Although the staff was friendly and accommodating. I was very disappointed in our transportation arrangements and poor communication. During our booking, the representative stated they were official booking agents for mya air and would arrange for our transportation from the international airport to the hotel. I provided my international flight information and my travel companion‘s name and the time of our arrival we were told there would be an additional charge which was agreeable. At no time was I made aware that we would not be flying and rather we would be charged $430 for a three hour car ride from the airport to the hotel. We spent about an hour at the Mayan air counter, trying to find our reservation and then another 20 minutes trying to contact the hotel. Additionally, we did not receive any of our VIP upgrades on booking through Expedia as expected. The rooms are not equipped with coffee makers. There’s no coffee in the lobby and the restaurant was not open during our stay. This makes it very difficult if you have any excursions planned and are leaving early.
