Great location. Awesome staff. Updated and very very clean We followed the advice of other reviews and brought a fan. The A/C is rather noisy at times. It sounded like a jet engine when the air really kicked in. Solution. We would get the room pretty cold. Then unplug the a/c when we went to sleep. That eliminated the noise. The fan kept the air circulating. That kept the room comfortable. Also. Turn off the wine fridge at night. Ours made a high pitched noise at times that was annoying. The hotel itself was very quiet. No room to room noise. A very relaxing vibe

This review reflects my family’s experience.
We booked a two-night stay at the Marriott. On the morning we were due to check in, I received an email informing me that, due to “unforeseen circumstances”, Marriott (not Hotels.com) had moved our booking to a different hotel.
Instead of enjoying the start of our holiday, I spent several hours trying to resolve the situation. To make matters worse, the replacement hotel was one we had previously ruled out because of concerns raised in reviews about its location, so it was not a comparable or suitable alternative for our family.
The only positive aspect was that, after I challenged Marriott, they offered compensation. However, this should have been offered proactively rather than only after I had complained.
Unfortunately, because of the disruption, poor communication, and the unsuitable replacement hotel, I can only leave a poor review.

This hotel was clean, comfortable and in a wonderful location. It had a nice bar area, and comfortable lobby. I would have given it 5 stars except it felt a little “business-y”, would have maybe liked a little more charm. Otherwise, I have no complaints. It was wonderful.

Staff was wonderful. Very helpful. The weather was very hot during our stay and the air conditioning was quite noisy. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect. We would return!

The breakfast was good. There is one thing that could be done to improve and facilitate the guests access to the buffet.
There is a substantial distance between the tables and the buffet. That causes a problem for guests to bring their coffee cups to the table. It is not uncommon for coffee to be spilled over the way from the buffet until the table. That could be easily solved if a coffee jar is brought to the table avoiding the need for the guests to walk with coffee cups.

Nice hotel. Fantastic location. Loving dining room but buffet breakfast was unremarkable and overpriced. Compared to staff at retail establishments throughout the Old City in Montreal, the hotel staff were not very warm, welcoming, or helpful.

The location is excellent, within walking distance of Old Montreal, Notre-Dame Basilica, and many great restaurants. The room was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately, our overall stay was disappointing because of the noise.
On the first night, our room had a constant loud mechanical humming noise that continued throughout the entire night. We even unplugged the air conditioning unit, but the noise was still there, so it was clearly coming from another source. After driving more than 10 hours from the U.S. with two children, we were completely exhausted but barely slept.
The second night, although the mechanical noise was gone, we were awakened around 6:00 a.m. by an extremely loud garbage truck outside. The noise lasted for quite a while, making it impossible to continue sleeping.
The hotel has a great location and clean rooms, but unfortunately we were unable to get a good night’s sleep during either night of our stay. I hope the hotel can address these noise issues so future guests can have a better experience.
