Loved this hotel. Great location in the heart of Whyte Street, amazing bar and music venue, really friendly staff, spacious and clean room and a very comfy bed. Highly recommend it.

Decent option for a cheap stay on Whyte Ave. Nothing fancy but did the trick.

Quite convenient to walk around Whyte Ave, with plenty of bars nearby. However, it gets quite noisy at night, especially with cars passing along the street around midnight. I asked the staff if I could switch to a quieter room on the other side, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible. Additionally, the room amenities were quite limited, even no chair by the table.

Staff was great, hotel is very outdated and run down, not super clean, air conditioning in the room was broken and it was way too hot, chain lock on the door was completely broken off, smelled of cigarette smoke. I tried to contact the hotel regarding the issues and they never replied to me. Was way too expensive for what it was.

The rooms are very basic, clean, comfortable bed, very affordable with restrooms and showers down the hall. If you simply require a place to sleep in the Whyte Ave. neighbourhood, the Commercial is a good option. The historic pub downstairs is a bonus. Lots of dining spots within a couple of blocks, plus the nearby Farmers Market, bookshops, and many great local businesses.

It’s an old hotel with so much character that has been beautifully painted. Staff are awesome!

Drity, bad customer service, wong size bed

The Commercial is an old heritage building that has been modernized inside. The furnishings are a bit bare bones, and this unit a fancy "luxury" place, but it has a lot of funky charm. The room was spotless, and the staff were all uniformly friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again when visiting Edmonton's Old Strathcona district.

Yup all great

Terrible hotel. Dirty. Broken door lock. Daughters felt unsafe. Left after checking in. Hotel manager, Kat, didnt respond to calls and emails for 3 weeks. Never refunded and stood by the corporate moto. We provide a safe experience blah blah… thankfully Expedia made it right. Do not book this place. Expedia should remove it.

Not worth the price, very old hotel. So disappointed no mini fridge in the room . When I get there nobody at the front desk I have to wait for 10 minutes. The price is too too high

The staff were great and it was fairly nice for the price and area. We would come back again.

Uniquely bad. No toilet paper in one of the rooms, shared toilets unclean, no towels, air con broken so no sleep. not sure where all the excellent reviews come from. More a bad hostel than a pub hotel. The bar manager checked us in and he was nice but got to be the weirdest experience of a hotel ever. Dont bother believing the good reviews. Avoid!!

All the staff are really nice! And the property is so cool too

There were no check-in instructions, front door was locked and they didnt pick up phone calls.

Honestly my only complaint was that I had to park in the street
