Very clean room which was my biggest concern. Lost of amenities around like restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping. Its attached to Scotia Square which has a Dollarama, pharmacy and restaurants so easy access to everyday essentials without having to walk a distance. Lovely staff they were very friendly and greeted me everytime i was in the lobby. Its also quiet throughout the day as well. Would definitely come back when i’m in Halifax again.

very hard to find. very hard to get in....made several calls to front desk, received different instructions each time. Address is 1990 Barrington but its not on that street. I finally stopped a police car and they got me to follow them to the hotel. Under construction. Loud construction noises from early morning. Amenities not available. After I paid for the room thru Expedia, the hotel sent me an email saying it was under construction. It is central and connected to Scotia Square mall and food court.

We were very please with the quality of the renovations to the rooms and to the building. Everything smelled so fresh and clean and the staff were wonderful. The rooms were very clean and could tell everything was brand new. Unfortunately they did not improve any of the soundproofing in between the rooms. We were travelling with two children and were all awoken at 230am to the sounds of people in a nearby room screaming and laughing. We were able to finally get back to sleep about an hour later after they calmed down.

The beds were comfortable and the location was excellent. It was very convenient to have direct access to the pedway to get to the waterfront. The hotel was under renovation while we were there, which we knew ahead of time and it did not affect our stay too much. It was inconvenient to not be able to access Netflix or be able to connect our Roku to the tv. The very nice maintenance man came to help but all he could do was offer apologies.
The hotel is quite the maze and we had a little trouble finding our room. The major downfall was that the rooms were not soundproof and we were could hear the people in the neighbouring rooms talking. Overall we had a nice stay and can say that it was worth what we paid for the room

The hotel is undergoing renovations. It’s a bit noisy. The guest rooms are all renovated, well appointed, and modern. The staff were amazing. I’ll definitely stay again.

First, it was not the room i had reserved. We
got a bed and a cot instead of the 2 beds we booked.
they offered free breakfast instead, wasn’t bad but not worth the $30 each it would have cost.
NO HOT WATER in room. Hardly warm.
Heater/AC unit loud as a truck and blows like a gale. Bathroom has sliding door which was not properly installed so you can watch someone in the shower if you stand at the door as it does not close properly, and there is no lock on it in any case. Hammering started in a nearby room at 9am. I was made aware they were under renovation, but that does not explain or excuse the bulk of the problems we encountered.
Very disappointing experience overall. By the end we were laughing about it as it was just excessively ridiculous, but i will definitely not stay there again.

we have enjoyed our 2 visits to the newly renovated Hotel Halifax. Staff are excellent. Only complaint, when we stayed in December, we were assigned room 117. It was very noisy in that level of hotel. If we return, we will definitely request not to be placed down there. Otherwise visit was as expected.

Tim and the staff at the front desk were great to deal with. Had no real issues but the property is still under some construction for the overhaul.
It is a great location for the downtown area, the casino or just walking around the waterfront.
Will be a jewel when the work is complete.
Looking forward to sitting in front of the fireplace in the lobby.

Firstly hotel doesn’t have parking that’s so sad as we paying alot while booking for a room after that hotel charges extra for parking ( that’s disgusting)
The most disappointing thing is they don’t have microwave in their rooms !! Like how people will manage while staying their
Staff don’t even know how to behave professionally!! They judge people with their clothes .like my friend was in normal clothes ( night suit) one of employees called him while he was in the lobby rudly asked about room number like seriously its seems he is judging him !!!
