The Dunlop sits on a very nice piece of property and it would have been pleasant to have a walk about but the weather was too inclement. The room itself was basic, a little dilapidated but clean. The bed the comfortable, the pillows were not quite so comfortable. A little upgrade in the coffee amenities would be good, perhaps a real carafe instead of paper cups. Internet was very slow, unfortunately. The owner Mike is very nice, he seemed to remember me from years ago. We paid $99.00 CAD plus tax.

The only thing was no hairblower! I had to go buy one. Also found upon checking in, found the pinesol aroma way too strong, had to open windows to air out.

Bed uncomfortable, one pillow was thin and the other one was hard as a rock. The air conditioner didnt work well. Was a not proper shower curtain. Will not come back.

Courteous staff

We love staying here. It is the best place in Goderich to stay. We have stayed at a lot of other places and they do not compare. The room is spacious, a kitchenette area, couch for sitting on,upgraded bathroom, extra chairs. The owners have gone above and beyond to make you comfortable. I am a little reluctant to give them such a raving review, because I really don't want them to get too busy, that they increase their prices and can't accommodate us in the future.

Clean, quiet, excellent location for our needs

The place has been cleaned well however the smell of mold is overpowering to the point I don’t know if I can’t tolerate it for even 1 night. My allergy to mold is causing me significant breathing issues here.

Long review. My late grandfather started bringing us here when I was a child (now 50) its been a tradition that whenever any of our family pass through Goderich we stay at the Dunlop. Was just in town for a funeral and cancelled my reservation at the Comfort Inn and decided to keep the tradition alive and stay at the Dunlop. The owner is great. The outside has been maintained well but the rooms are getting pretty rough. Duct tape on there floor covering gaps in the laminate, ceiling paint peeling, ect...but the bedding was clean. Its now a little expensive for the condition of the rooms. But still, It will remain my go to in Goderich. Tradition is tradition.

My wife particularly appreciated the kettle and teapot in our room. Tea made through a one up coffee machine tastes terrible.

It was an enjoyable stay
