The room was nice and opened up right to the beach! A beautiful cove with a nice beach and decent surf that was good for surfing lessons. We never ate at the hotel restaurant but lots of shops and restaurants a short walk away. Loved it!

10/10 hotel, right on the water, super clean and Rolando was super helpful every step of the way, from messaging pre trip to helping arrange tours and shuttles when we were there!

Perfect location. Right on the beach. Restaurant is ok. Staff is amazing! Loud at night - music. A little dated. Massage was good. Typical beach boutique hotel. No thrills. Parking if you need it. Would I stay again, yes.

Excellent management and employees. Rolondo was the best. Location is perfect and good prices. The extra taxes can make food/drink more expensive, but that is out of their control. We will be back soon.

Our stay at Hotel La Palapa was amazing. The location is absolutely unbeatable—right on the beach with stunning views and everything in Tamarindo just steps away. The hotel itself is beautiful, relaxing, and perfectly set up for a laid-back beach stay. A special thank you to Rolando, who was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our visit—he truly made us feel welcome. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Rolando and Audrey (at the front desk) were amazing! They helped arrange our transportation from the airport (both ways) but also arranged a shuttle to see friends over an hour away. They also arranged our surf lesson with Luis and we had THE BEST TIME. The restaurant attached to the hotel was great and had a “fire show” on the beach. We stayed in the Supreme room and the beds were great, it was super clean. We heard music from somewhere down the street until late, but it didn’t bother us. The town of Tamarindo is family friendly, lots of shops and restaurants. I felt very safe the entire time we were there. We will definitely be back, we only spent a couple of days and I want at least a week next time. Pura Vida!

Thouroghly enjoyed my stay at La Palapa! Entertained family on the beach and shared a few drinks from the bar, taking full advantage of the 2 for 1 proceso! Thank you, Rolando and staff!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the property was unreal, short, walk out anything you could need and a fantastic view of the sunset from your room. The rooms were quaint and rustic, which was exactly what I was looking for. All in all a great day I would definitely come back.

We had an amazing time. The beach view was beautiful. The hotel lounge area by the beach was perfect. We would love to be back!

The staff was amazing. Parking it tight but it’s included so that was a plus. The location and accessibility to the beach can’t be beat. Will definitely stay there again.

This place was next-level amazing for the value. When we checked in, we had the (owner? manager?) give us a personal tour of the facility to our room. The room was ocean-facing, which was a really nice perk. We were able to park our rental car in a locked lot during our stay (included). The beach access is right there - hotel guests get priority access to hammocks, chairs and tables. Tamarindo is very walkable, so you'll be able to access tons of restaurants, shops and bars in the area. The one drawback has nothing to do with the hotel at all - the club nearby/next door blasted music from 2:30a.m. to 5 a.m. every night we were there, so BRING EARPLUGS. The monkeys can get loud as well, and the iguanas loudly walk on your roof. Hotel guests also get access to $35 massages on the beach (bring cash) and it was one of the most calming, relaxing massages of my life with the sound of crashing waves during it. Overall, would come back to this hotel every time I'm in Tamarindo.

The hotel area is super nice, the room was great, and lots of hammocks and beach chairs in a private area. The man working the reception was extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside is having to walk through the restaurant entrance, past the heat of the kitchens etc to get to the hotel room. Only reason it’s 4 not a 5
