The hotel is a very short walk to the main downtown area. Just far enough away to avoid the noise but close enough to be there in a few minutes. The pool is amazing! Staff is very helpful and courteous. The room was clean and air conditioned, and the beds were comfortable.

Room was clean, well equipped and bed was super comfy. Pool area was nice with plenty of areas of shade to avoid the sun. Very convenient location. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for something quaint with a local vibe.

We stayed for 7 nights and had a wonderful time! The property was right in the middle of all the best restaurants in town - Lestanco (The Hidden Garden), Dragonfly, Rugierio for coffee and bagels, the Night Market and all of the beach restaurants to watch the sunset.
The owner was there every day. The staff was excellent. Definitely saw monkeys in the trees above us. It was a definite oasis in the middle of town! We loved it!

Room cleanliness was very good, housekeeping efficient and always new towels. Breakfast was under par, very disappointing. We felt restaurant staff could’ve been more helpful and friendly, it would’ve boosted their sales. Pool often had lots of falling leaves, but was awesome. Hotel Pasatiempo is right in town and walking distance to many restaurants, live music and the beach and at the same time it feels like a lush oasis. Lots of beautiful palm trees and plenty of wildlife like iguanas and monkey visits in the mornings. Very quiet considering how close you are to everything.

i absolutely love this accommodation. Felt like we were at a resort. The room was small, but we did not need anything larger as we didn’t spend much time here. Walked out of our room into the pool area. We enjoyed having a restaurant and bar on site. It was within walking distance to everything. Night market just down the street. We even saw monkeys passed through a few times during our stay.

Hotel Pasatiempo is an oasis in Tamarindo! There is a lush garden throughout the property and you can see a variety of animals like monkeys, iguanas, raccoons, etc. It has air conditioned/ceiling fans, spacious and very clean cabanas with wonderful patios. The pool is has lots of seating around it and is a nice option from going to the beach. The beach is across the main road in Tamarindo and there are many restaurants and shops right there. The hotel has a bar and restaurant also. The staff is super friendly and accommodating! I love it there!! My one recommendation is to have a variety of pillows. 😁

Staff were super helpful and friendly. The grounds were lush and full of trees and gardens and the kitchen suite was perfect for small family size with private patio. Loved it and would go back.

This is a boutique hotel with quaint clean rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant is more expensive than other restaurants in town so didn’t eat there but in the morning they had delicious free coffee for guests.

We stayed in the full suite, with Kitchen and Sitting Area. The space is good, the bed was comfortable, but the Living Room furniture was not.
It's an easy walk to shops and restaurants in town.

So ive been coming to this hotel for a while. It seems like ownership has changed and with that the condition of the property. The rooms and buildings itself are falling apart, and they're very cheap with simple toilet paper. And on top of that the property is dirty and landscaping is being neglected and the pool was dirty. Its a shame, i wish ownership hadnt change i definitely wont be going back.
