Run down hotel.

Spacious and quiet room with park view. Buffet breakfast and dinner were ok, you will not leave the dining area hungry since they offer a good variety of dishes. If you are looking for a spot to relax you've definitely come to the right place.

Diesesmal hatten wir ein Appartement im Hotel Istra das zwar sauber war aber schlecht gewartet! Einige Türen (u.a. Glastüren im Bad, Zwischentüren, Eingangstüren) waren nur mit Mühe zu öffnen, im Bad war eine transparente Abdichtung des Spritzschutzes der Glaswand ( ... ein billiger Austauschartikel) verkalkt und total verbraucht! Dies hinderte uns die Badewanne zu nutzen, es wae unzumutbar. Im Zimmer 108 war die Toilette nucht wirklich zu nutzen da der Wasserschwall bei der Spülung lediglich ein Rinnsal war. Positiv die aufrichtige und herzliche Freundlichkeit aller Mitarbeiter mit denen wir Kontakt hatten, tadellos die Kulinarik! Danke!

Wir sind Dauergäste seit etlichen Jahren! Es ist die Natur, die Geschichte und die aufrichtige Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter, gilt auch für die Fähre, die uns wiederkommen lässt. Sehr positiv ist die Sauberkeit im Hotel, lediglich die italienischen Kaffeemaschinen sind schrottig.

A treasure of history and luxury. There are ample amounts of both. No words can truly convey the magical feeling one experiences when staying on Brijuni. I will certainly return with my wife again.

Our suite was very spacious; bathrooms were excellent and very clean; the terraces needed some refurbishment as paint was peeling and the floors needed to be redone as the current status as shabby. The buffet was ok but quite basic. Breakfast was very good. The hotel personnel was very helpful and friendly.

Highlight of our trip! Only downside was a/c didn’t work. Otherwise great stay!

Two days on a delightful island. If you don't expect a perfect golf course a round is an absolute blast!

Great hotel! Brijuni are just gorgeous with a lot of things to do (swimming, walking in the parks, biking, sightseeing roman ruins, safari park, etc). We paid for buffet dinner offered by the hotel. The food was just marvelous...just like home made food made by my Croatian mother.

This is a unique and marvellous place - both the island with its numerous attractions and the hotel with its longstanding history. We enjoyed it a lot and had a wonderful time again.

Hotel should improve the meals, especially dinner, which should be much, much better. Also window blinds must be fixed, as they were smashing against the window when it was windy. Other than that, hotel was very nice, clean, renovated partially, friendly staff and on beautiful location

The service was good, hotel is a bit outdated but the rooms are very spacious. Air conditioning could be better. Location is very convinient.

Soba velika i prozračna, veliki francuski prozori, pogled na more, kupaonica moderno renovirana, predsoblje s držačem kofera i velikim ogledalom, puno ormara, stilska fotelja i lampe, LCD TV, jedino dvosjed dosta izlizan. Hotel je na samoj obali, uredan i grijan, lift. Hrana je na principu švedskog stola i svatko može pronaći nešto za sebe. Jedina zamjerka je visoka cijena pića i kave u hotelskom baru. Zato na otok ponijeti dovoljno pića i grickalica jer nema dućana ni kioska.

Landscape is outstanding and Veli Brijun is a truly outstandingly beautiful island - my overall Hotel experience was not as nice as somewhere else. 1. Cleanliness: poor. Room was refurbished and modern yet cozy, bathroom was totally different story. Dated, old, dusty and poorly cleaned. Long women’s hair found in a bath-tube (see photo 1), even though there was a sign ‘Bathroom was disinfected for you’ and absolute nightmare number two was found behind the bathroom doors (see photo 2). Really filthy corner and probably not cleaned in years. 2. Service: poor Senior Staff had this ‘old school’ touch for customers service, unpleasant and patronising. 3. Food: poor As there is no other options on the Island for having dinner, you will be charged 115,00 HRK (£14.50/15,60€/17.50$) per person to eat very limited buffet style food. No drinks included! Unreasonably overpriced.
