The service and pool were outstanding. We also enjoy the beach. The rooms are a bit outdated (especially the bathrooms need work). While the food was B+, there were many opening hour and take away restrictions at both the buffet and restaurants. Very inconvenient with young children. If you’re used to all-inclusive rules and limitations you might not be bothered by this. Also, people from nearby cruise ships can pay to come there for the day. That makes for a very chaotic environment.

Actually i liked everything. The staff was amazing, the food and different options of drinks! This is my 3rd time going and will continue to go!

We did a snorkel and scuba experience it was great. The resort is clean the staff is AMAZING. This was our first time to the Dominican Republic and we enjoyed it.

I've been going to all-inclusive resorts for 20 years and this is by far the most disappointing one. Cons: Far, uncomfortable drive from the STI aiport Beata building was outdated, mildewy, and far away from anything fun & the beach Had to make dinner reservations for the 3 (subpar) restaurants DAYS in advance Pool towels could take 1 hour to be ready sometimes Tennis courts says open daily 8 am - 7 pm but we only saw it open ONCE in 5 days Drinks took FOREVER to come at the buffet, we would be done eating by the time they arrived Pools were not clean Limited shows (pretty much just watched guests sing karaoke every night) Drinks were not strong and not very tasty, just ended up not getting a buzz and hurting our stomachs Food was among the worst I've ever had and you had no option other than the buffet for breakfast, lunch & dinner because of the reservation issue Billiards table & ping pong closed early everyday even though that is all there was left to do Bars were only open 10 am - 12 am Housekeeping would take hours to get to your room and spend 1 hour inside that you could not enter during No clubs or any type of nightlife No kids foods (chicken tenders / mac n cheese, anything for picky eaters) Pros: Show/activity staff was very friendly and fun Convenient swim up bar Gym on site (limited hours) Beachfront property with easy access A/C in room was crispy cold Bartenders would fill your insulated tumbler or any cup you brought

Good service and kind welcome.

In my opinion, one of the best hotels in the Puerto Plata area. It is well maintained and cared for, kept clean, beautiful and well designed, lots of comfortable areas to hang out, the rooms have good sound proofing, love the balconies, rooms have enough space for clothes, hangers included. Lots of hot water for showers, rooms have a small fridge and a safe. Nice newer tv's with a variety of channels, a few English. The main pools area is spacious and beautiful, and there is a quieter pool in the adjacent building. The inclusive menu is varied with a good variety of meat, fish, veg, local fruits, a pasta and pizza station, and lots of tasty desserts. The beach area is nice, with a few snorkel spots with some beautiful fish. The property is right next to a professionally designed golf course, a plaza with some nice stores, and an interesting bar where one can watch hockey games in the evening. I love the staff at GV. They are all very, friendly and helpful. Muchas gracias!

We have been to GranVentana 8 times already. Reasons being a beautiful beach and the food quality. Prior to this resort other resorts had below average quality food.

I did not find anything unique about the resort. The small bars were very good, however, there was a need for more chairs at bar side. Many of the food cuts were tough to chew. The breakfast servings were good.

The staff was not accommodating at all. Paid for 3 people in the room only provided 2 towels. Had to call front desk multiple times before they finally came to provide towels and water. The “mini bar” is a joke. They do not have an iron in the room. You have to ask for an iron then they make you walk to the front desk to get it yourself. They expect you to bring it right back. I have never stayed at an all inclusive resort that made me walk back and forth with an iron. Then they made me tell them how long I was using it for and they provided broken irons. The food was not good. You have to make reservations but you can’t do it till your second day there. And then you can’t a reservation for that day. So that means out of 4 nights I was there I had to eat at the buffet all meals for 2 whole days. The room only had one outlet in the room and one in the bathroom. You can not charge multiple phones at the same time. We had to have our phones in the bathroom at night. That is very inconvenient. Small resort and for older people. Our experience was terrible and will never stay there again.

The staff does so much to make sure the stay is great. We have gone to Gran Ventana for 16 years and love it. We had no water due to a pump issue in town and the staff was lugging buckets to help flush toilets and make it so it was barely noticeable. The staff works so hard! no water was not in their control, but they did great to accommodate the situation. Beaches are great. The food is amazing! There is enough shade or sun depending on your preference. Rooms are clean and stocked daily. A great worry free vacation!
