Tuviste una excelente estadía, la gente muy cordial y atenta. Recomiendo este lugar para quedarse en un lugar de paz y descanso

Terrible el lugar. En las fotos se ve rustico pero lindo y agradable. Es rustico y cochino, incomodo y las sabanas son todas llenas de rotos. Da asco dormir en esas camas

Cute rustic cabin with a beautiful view. Unfortunately the village party had loud music til 3 am.

What a wonderful place to stay! Had some difficulty finding it, as I was driving alone and my Spanish is terrible, but once I arrived, I had zero complaints! There are two Balcon del Lagos on Google Maps, make sure to go to the one closer to the lake. The staff is extremely friendly, and truly care about your experience. The cabins themselves have stunning views, hot water, and are very cozy. I would highly recommend staying here, for a fun and authentic Ecuadorian experience!

El lugar es muy descuidado, desde las áreas comunes hasta la habitación. La única parte bien cuidada es el exterior. En nuestro caso, no tuvimos ni agua caliente, ni WiFi, mientras el estacionamiento consiste en pegarse a la pared de la casa, en labcalle. Quasi todo en la descripción es falso, no tiene cortinas blackout, tampoco edredón de plumas o ropa de cama de alta calidad. No tiene calefacción, y la chimenea indicada está en la área común así que sufrimos bastante del frío. Pero más que todo, la atención fue pésima, obviamente no ganas de recibir a huéspedes. El desayuno si era correcta y la vista muy bonita.

The view was great. There was no sound proofing so you would hear everything from the outside, the multiple dog fights during the night, the neighbor's loud music, people having sex in the cabin next door, the roosters from 4am.

Una excelente estancia en un lugar tranquilo y con hermosa vista; regresaré en proximas ocaciones. Les sugeriría colocar mayor señalética para el acceso.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay, We live in Cotacachi and love to visit the local area. Food was great and service was a family atmosphere. We would stay again.

Es una experiencia diferente. La vista es extraordinaria. Los propietarios muy amables. Si busca turismo más de aventura es una buena alternativa.

Was much more rustic than the description. Was OK for us but hard for some. We did have a fire in our room but not in dining area and that was quite bold. We were the only ones there and meals seemed kind of awkward. The family members were very nice and tried very hard. But different from advertised: no hot water, no bottled water, no “bar” ( they did have some beer) and 24 hour service does not really apply. But if you want to stay as “locals”. This was fine

Unfortunately, we were not looking for the rustic experience and that is what we received. The guys helping out and the lady assisting were very good. If you are looking for the rustic experience and want to be away from Otavalo as well as going up a dirt road then this is your place. However, you can't beat the view.

A beautiful stay!! Jessica, Efrain and Andres were so wonderful, warm and welcoming. Rooms have an awesome view but getting there was a little tricky. I read the reviews ahead of time and followed the directions that someone posted because our GPS on our rental car did not find the lodge. We looked for the man on a horse as land mark and made the turn on the church. Road was mostly dirt. The couple of down falls of the place was the small signs to guide you there and the hot water. We could only get hot water if you turned it at very low pressure, but glad we had some hot water! Quick showers is the way to go. If you just follow the mark points it's easy to get there and a must stay! Food was great, close to site seeing and hospitality was 5 stars. Would recommend this without hesitation.
