Excellent food and service

The rooms, the superior rooms were not great, our friends in room 24, had to plug the kettle in on the floor, as there were no plugs by the dressing table to plug it in. In room tea & coffee supplies were sparse. No usb ports. The staff were good though, especially at dinner. The food was great. Breakfast is a self service buffet, this was a little on the cool side.

The room was very clean, bed was very comfortable. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Food was really well presented and delicious. Facilities at the hotel were excellent. We had a lovely stay, everything you need for a relaxing break away in a lovely part of the New Forest.

Not worth paying the extra £30pp for the spa, very nice and clean facilities but not worth the extra price just for a sauna and steam room, did enjoy sitting in the relaxation room but still not worth £30pp just for that. However the pool and jacuzzi already included in the price were not ok. Pool very small, shallow and cold, not able to swim in it. Jacuzzi also way too cold for a jacuzzi and is tiny, says can fit 6 people but only it you are sitting on each others laps! Very basic, area around the pool cramped and not very relaxing, was not what I was expecting from the photos. Rest of the hotel very nice, dinner and breakfast both lovely although dinner portions on the small side. Room and hotel itself very nice and clean, bar area around the fire very nice and cosy. Some staff a bit clueless but all friendly and polite. No fridge in the room which I always find slightly annoying. Overall very nice stay just disappointed in the spa and pool as booked for a nice relaxing spa break which we did not feel we got. Fine for a normal hotel stay with no expectations of a nice spa.

Staff were great, food was great and the setting is beautiful.

Very friendly and helpfull staff, at reception, in the bar and restaurant. Excellent breakfast all the food was hot and the chocolate croissants were warm, really unusual in all the hotels we have stayed in over over several years. Gold star!

Really comfortable room. Lovely area - I’ve stayed before and deliberately chose to return here to this hotel. Nice to have the pool and jacuzzi.

the hotel is tired the standard room we were given was terrible . the bar is nice and the breakfast was great again the pool needs a refit and i think its very poor that u have to pay to use the spa when your staying ..staff were friendly but wouldnt return

Arrival - good. Simone looked after us well and we managed to check in early. Afternoon Tea - good. Honestly, for me I would prefer to be asked whether I wished to dial up the savoury or the sweet as this offering was too sweet for me especially the chocolate ganache Bedroom - ok. Bed linen had black mark on sheet. Bed frame had wear marks, shower glass had water marks, shower fixture was loose. We were in Room 3 - the noise from upstairs gave the impression there was a baby elephant stamping above us - not conducive to a relaxed environment. Breakfast- good. Fair selection on offer - surprised to hear Capuccino was a supplement, but ok. Bar - good. Enjoyed the music and the bar staff were helpful and sat in the tent and used heaters Pool - good. Changing facilities good too. Parking - good. No issue finding a space on site. Checkout - I do not recall going to a hotel that had a 10:30 am checkout time especially on a Sunday morning.

Love that you can walk straight into the forest

Ideal location for visiting the new forest with our dog, it’s a very dog friendly hotel. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.Breakfast was really tasty and a great choice. We didn’t have the best view but would definitely return in the future.

Staff were very friendly and breakfast provided a good selection. Room was quite dated and there could have been more attention to detail on the cleaning. Location was great.

Everything about the hotel was lovely, including room, food, staff and location.

The staff at this hotel are fantastic, there is a good mix of ages working here and all are top notch when it comes to customer service. The food is fabulous, good quality, fresh and soooo tasty (compliments to the chef who cooked our anniversary meal, really made our night along with the service thank you 💕)

We had a fantastic 2 day stay attending our friends wedding. It was an ideal location and nothing was too much trouble for the lovely friendly staff. I would highly recommend

The staff were amazing, every single person we interacted with. The hotel was lovely, although the room was a little dated. We also found 2 x head hairs on the bedsheet. Pillows quite hard / lumpy. The spa was really nice and the staff there were great. The pools, both inside and out were NOT heated despite the website / booking saying they would be and the staff at check in advised us. Overall a lovely stay but a few little things would have meant a 5 star review rather than the 4 star I am giving it.

Fantastic place to stay. Excellent restaurant with a great choice of food and wine. The room was clean and tidy and well appointed. The staff were helpful and friendly. Special mention for Hayley in the restaurant who was a great asset to the hotel.

A lovely hotel in the beautiful New Forest. Dog friendly and seemed very popular. Decorated nicely and some modern fabric choices on furnishings. Relaxed completely in the pool and sauna and felt invigorated by the hot tub. Would stay again if I could afford it, but it is a little pricey for my budget.
