The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The shower was also excellent. The meal was amazingly priced for 3 courses and the chief made the pudding from scratch. I would absolutely go back again and even if we disnt stay the night i could eat the chiefs food all day long every day

Clean room, slightly dated decor but room was warm and cosy, quiet. Reception staff were friendly. Good price, just what I expected really.

Good relaxing, value for money break

Room was nice altho a little dated and only one plug socket? Two twin beds pushed together which wasn't very comfortable, a regular double bed would have been better. Hotel itself is beautiful, as are the grounds. Paid for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was adequate but don't waste your time with the dinner, it was inedible, I dont know what they were thinking with that food. And you also have to pay to use the pool, the only hotel I've stayed in that charges you to use the pool. Overall if I wanted a quiet night away and the price was right I would stay again, however, I wouldn't pay for the food, just the room.

Because of the festive season, but their hospitality was exceptional. Christmas card and a box of short bread and fudge were in our room. Christmas crackers on our dining table. We had really good time. One thing expedia web site should clearly mention that this hotel charge each time us when use swimming pool and gym. We did not know that until we visit the facility.

Were not warned to enter car details into their system. After i asked if still required as had put them on check in form, i was casually told 'probably best if I didnt want a ticket. Also did not offer directions to room (over 200 in hotel with no obvious signage from reception). Just felt they weren't interested in guests. Room ok, but tired. TV remote batteries either flat or remote warn out. No bath mat so had to step out onto damp floor. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, space was too small for numbers of people, with queuing to get in. Had to squeeze through two rows of tables to get to food/drinks and kitchen and only wide enough for 1 person so having to wait for for other guests and staff clearing tables, with constant jepardy of getting something down your back. Choice of fresh fruit/yogurt very limited, croissants either stale or not properly cooked as very chewy. Cooked food was quite nice.

A Stately home Mansion now a hotel couldn’t fault it beautiful grounds easy parking good food reasonably price 3 course meal, almost A La Carte quality for £17! Buffet breakfast health club was excellent and free pool sauna steam room all top notch for the price will paid for a stay would not hesitate to stay here again on our way up North to break the trip up

There was a constant noise from machinery, like air conditioning. Not exactly sure what was causing the noise, however it kept us awake all night. It got to 4am and we decided to leave and come home early.

Very comfortable

Good food, nice building. Heating in room did not work, gave us a small portable radiator. Very busy. But at the price cant complain too much

This was a very traditional type property. So don’t expect any creature comforts. Tall Ceilings larger ish rooms, which were freezing. During the time I was there it felt like a scene from the living dead. I think a coach of old folk turned up for Xmas dinner in Novermber. lol

Bathrooms need upgrading

Older property but expected of a property of that age . Updated bathroom . Friendly staff. Wonderful grounds and location

However, despite its enchanting appearance and attractive prices, the hotel is quite dated. It has not undergone any renovations or upgrades in recent years, which has impacted its overall comfort and amenities. Additionally, the staff did not display the warmth and friendliness I had hoped for during my visit.

public rooms, guest room, spa, etc, run down. Check in people indifferent. Nice lady at the spa!

Room ok. Breakfast very busy. There was a wedding so staff were all dealing with it.

Needs a good revamp.

Beautiful place, great staff only happy to help, huge thanks to the catering team whom assisted with a dietry need, the place is well maintained although could definitely do with a lick of paint a bit of maintenance in places and a spruice up in places but that did not have any affect on the stunning place i for one will be booking once again when in the vacinity again
