Really lovely relaxing place for a hot summer day. The outside pool was a bonus! Room was clean although beds for teens were far too small. Restaurant was nice. Some parts of the hotel look tired & need a refresh but we’ll definitely be back!!

The breakfast not replenished, no egg cups provided !!! Table in conservatory leg falling, shabby chairs. Slow service, staff saying Chef only just turned up. Dining room area full of cobwebs, cleaners need to look above eye level, The rooms shower facilities not great the floor not level . It’s such a shame as the outside of the building and views are great.

The food and staff were genuinely amazing — every meal was delicious and the team were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. We also loved the free‑standing bath in our room; such a lovely touch and really added to the experience. Unfortunately, we didn’t sleep well as the room was extremely hot, and the fan provided didn’t help at all. A better cooling option would have made a big difference. The pool itself was beautiful and refreshing, but it did feel a bit awkward during our visit. A bridal party were sitting along the edge with their feet in the water, taking photos — including with a drone — and they were taking up around half the pool space, which made it less relaxing for other guests. Overall, a mix of wonderful service and amenities with a few comfort issues that affected our stay.

Disappointed in our stay - particularly with respect to value for money. Although the building and grounds are attractive, the photos are misleading. In our room and main hotel areas: furniture faded and stained, peeling paint and water stains on the walls, mould in the shower, dirty windows and light fixtures covered in cobwebs. The mattress was very firm. It was too warm for the duvet provided - a flat sheet would have been a thoughtful alternative. The TV connection was so unstable; we had to fiddle with the cable to watch. In anticipation of hot weather we asked whether we should bring our own fan and were told one would be provided; that fan was broken. Staff were unable to provide a replacement. As only three of the four windows opened, and only slighlty, the room was hot and stuffy all night. Outside, the pool area had comfortable chairs but ladders into the pool were not fixed properly, the paint was peeling, and the water in need of cleaning. No towels were provided. The Adirondack chairs by the entrance were a nice place for a drink and to take in the view, but needed to be cleared of the many glasses and ashtrays from previous visitors. Put us off eating in the restaurant. As far as being dog-friendly, for £15 extra, only a few tiny treats and poo-bags were provided, with scale-stained water bowls at the entrance. On check-out staff did not inquire about our stay; merely said good bye. A very poor comparison to other hotels in the same category.

The hotel has a great location and the room was clean and well serviced, but the building itself was in poor condition and our room on the second floor was like an oven. No aircon, a weak noisy fan and a window with limited opening. There was an outdoor pool but this was not open despite it being the hottest ever day in May (according to the website, it is open from June to September). Restaurant was 'fully booked' for the evening of our arrival, despite there being a number of apparently free tables, so we ate out both evenings. Breakfast was expensive at £20 per head, so we had that out too (there are a couple of very nice coffee shops in Burley village serving an excellent breakfast at less than half the price). Bar had a poor selection of drinks. Overall, something of a disappointment.

No breakfast

First of all the location is beautiful. When we arrived Tanya and the reception team were lovely. Room was very nice and spacious. Whilst we did have a problem with one member of staff at breakfast, Giorgio Hotel Manager quickly resolved and the rest of his team including José and Eduardo were great.

The room was perfect, lovely bathroom as well, however the hotel experienced a power outage overnight & therefore there was no hot water, lighting, no hot food for breakfast - and for whatever reason the toilets wouldn’t flush, which nobody seemed to realise. We had to pack the relative darkness looking for our belongings from the lights from our phones, and finding a way down the corridors in a huge sprawling hotel in the dark was quite tricky. I realise this is not exactly the hotels fault but they didn’t do anything to ease the process. Every room that morning was freezing. They didn’t light any of the fireplaces or provide any form of apologies. We left somewhat disappointed.

Many issues during our stay which is not cheap - we saved up for this as it was a huge dream to stay here and have left very disappointed. Arrival - no one at the desk for 20 minutes to which someone was waiting to complain too which didn’t start us off great. It also made us nearly miss dinner due to this wait as a few people said it was too late to eat but thankfully one person let us though it was rushed because of this delay waiting. Room was freezing when arrived and hat heater on full still cold. Tap water wasn’t drinkable in the room - bits of black came out of tap when turned it on which shows not clean and tasted vile. No vegan milk - though mentioned many times were very - although this was later rectified The water in the bath wasnt hot at all we had to boil the kettle and use that to have a bath! The first night we were woken very early by running and shouting in the corridors Room was never cleaned after first night though left sign in door second night we got a couple hours sleep as around 3am there was rackets and rackets of noise resulting in people shouting and swearing at the top of their voices in the corridors which went on for a long time and was impossible to get back to sleep. This happened outside our door so we were shut in yet the door was so thin it felt they could easily have come in felt insafe

The hotel needs a bit of TLC and upgrading. It was disappointing to have a bar with no beer or larger on tap! We were there in between Christmas and new year and told they only did beer on tap in the summer! The breakfast continental option was quite limited.

No spa facilities available, this was the purpose of the stay. If we had been informed we would have booked elsewhere

The properties extremely rundown and neglected. We stayed in the Burley suite , the room had a huge brown patch on the ceiling which could’ve been easily covered with a lack of paint, the carpet had huge stains and the locks keep getting stuck. The staff was uninterested overall.

I don't normally leave reviews but I feel like I have to with this one. The manor is very run down. It's beyond me that this property should have 4 stars. It's beautiful from the outside and the staff is friendly but other than that it's a mess. The food was terrible and really poor value for what was served. The restaurant is fully lit with lights that will give you a headache. It feels like dining at an insane asylum to be honest. There was a foul smell in the rooms and hallways. There was a wedding going on at full volume and our room was right next to it. We had not been informed and frankly the blasting of the music ruined our weekend. We were kindly given another room once we couldn't take the noise anymore but at that point we had gone to bed and were forced to get dressed and pack up all of our things. It was meant to be a relaxing weekend away from the city but we came back exhausted.

This is one of the most beautiful places in the New Forest, it needs some finer touches adding, finishing the painting on window ledges for example. But it's a huge property to maintain! Generally a good standard.
