Stayed there for football game nice hotel manager made you feel very welcome room is nice had Netflix and freeview and you tube channel on tv in my single room

Host very welcoming and i think the introduction of a breakfast bag is a superb idea. Would recommend anyone going to Portman Road 👍

Excellent value for money.

A warm and friendly welcoming. The hotel is situated in a good location in the town centre and the takeaway breakfast was a nice touch. However the bed was not comfortable and I did not sleep well. It was a windy night and the windows were rattling which woke me up and kept me awake. The property is a bit dated and could do with an upgrade.

Upgraded to a refurbed room but a twin, the double was freezing so no choice really but it was free and a much nice room. The window had a gap and on a road so not the quietest or warmest, the shower was cold and they served turkey rashes instead of bacon for breakfast, beef sausages fine but come on. The staff are great and the hotel is clean. Overall it was ok, I won’t stay again though sorry

when booked asked for 2 nights got e mail from you to say confirmed 2 nights when arrived they could only do 1 night so had to look around for my 2nd night

I rarely review but I have to say that the room was extremely comfortable and modern in design. Parking was a little limited but I managed OK. Didn't make breakfast as I was away too early. Great welcome from the manager though and you could tell there was great attention to detail overall - it's the little things that matter. I would definately aim to stay here again when next in the area.

Very steep windy stairs to get to our room but as we were only staying one night we didn't change to an offered refurbished suite on a lower floor for an extra €10 per night. Staff and breakfast were great

If you want really good service and value for money this is ideal. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and the room was absolutely fine. I was in one of the updated rooms and it had everything i needed.

Disappointing stay. Hotel needs a lot of upgrading. Room very tired. Wardrobe with door removed electric heater insufficient. Ensuite grimy and cold shower mucky. Bedding old with blankets. Tv tiny and very old. Breakfast called english in advertiding but was Halal and only available till 8.30am. First floor bathroom door open with a redident relieving himself. Not a good experience.

Good hotel stayed in one of the older rooms due a refurb and it was... Good value for money for a city centre stay. Reception and the welcome was 100%. Slept ok.

This hotel urgently needs refurbishing especially the bedrooms and absolutely the dreadful bathroom Needs an inspection by Expedia Staff were helpful but it truly is a one to two star at best Never again

A very friendly, family run hotel. It is a short walk into the centre of Ipswich. Nice breakfast cooked to order.

Ideal centre to look around on Ipswich foot and plenty of buses to explore further

We came to Ipswich to visit The Suffolk Show. We were made to feel very welcome at The Carlton, unable to fault the breakfast it was lovely and we have never had better. We were on the 2nd floor and as I am not very agile I found the steep narrow staircase rather challenging but manageable. We would stay again. A real bargain price too.
