Heat Pump out sound is very noisy and runs 24/7, disnt get a wink of sleep!!!

I have been going to the Abbey now for a number of years, however each year the property looks dirtier and dirtier each visit. The rooms and hallways could use an annual coat of paint. It’s starting to look like a grotty hotel TBH. It’s sad actually because it’s a beautiful property that is mot being properly managed when it comes to maintenance and the appearance of cleanliness. Sadly I don’t think I would stay there again, not unless it was cleaned up more. When I see dirt on the outside, rooms, hallways etc, I wonder what the kitchens are like. Sorry but Marstens need to shake their head and visit the property sometime, and if they are and this is acceptable to them then, you can’t then blame the people managing it. Sorry but a big thumbs down for me. :-(

Friendly staff

This was an adorable hotel! The room was clean and smelled fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful with navigating around Liverpool. The restaurant/bar downstairs was a pleasant atmosphere. They hosted a variety of events if you wanted to do something without having to leave the property. Even with everything going on it never disrupted our rest.

Average, The busy Pub below creates a enjoyable atmospheric atmosphere however the noise travels through the rooms and can make it difficult for peace and quiet. Service was grand, although the majority of the stay was people free due to QR codes, Online Check In, Checkout etc

Staff was great.

Location Quiet area on the outskirts of Liverpool. Shops within walking distance. Plenty of parking. 20min drive to city centre. Room Clean and cosy, though could do with a slight refresh and more power outlets. Service Staff were welcoming and helpful. Price Bargain. Overall Worth a look if planning on staying in the area.

Staff were excellent and couldn’t help enough, room was clean and mostly functional, our only gripe being a hair dryer and mirror with no plug socket to plug it in! Just two sockets on the far side of the room and way to far to reach or then use the mirror! Overall though a great friendly pub with guest rooms that did exactly what we needed during our stay!

We stayed on Saturday 23rd in Room 7. Every time you used the tap or flushed the toilet there was a epically loud noise of the system drawing the water. This not being bad enough when we got up in the morning for our 8am departure, we ran the shower for 30mins and it never got hot!!! We tried turning up passed the 38oC mark and noting, we tried the opposite way a still nothing. This meant our onward travel was showerless!!! Last night, the advertised closing time was 23:00 for the bar downstairs but the party night kept going until at least midnight! Then the banging closed of every fire door. It was torture!!!

Rooms are nice and clean. Downstair food and service are excellent! Will stay again in the future.

Fantastisk, genuint, hjerteligt og helt ned i tempo ret udenfor Liverpool. Første gang jeg var i Liverpool, og valgte et hotel lidt udenfor centrum, kostede kun 12 - 15 GBP med Uber og tog ca 20 min. Jeg vil vælge Childwall Abbey, by Marstons Inns næste gang jeg skal til Liverpool igen

No towel in room check in late told kitchen still open went to order and told kitchen closed not ever fiver minutes after checking in

The hotel was in a very nice location for an urban venue and the staff was friendly but that is the best one can say. The room was sweltering both nights even though the weather cooled during the second day. There was no servicing of the room. Worst of all the carb-heavy menu had nothing to offer my wife who is coeliac.

Very nice place to stay. The pub and people very welcoming. We will recommend it!

Easy to book, friendly staff

Booked a double bed, not a single in a closet. Got a free meal but not the spread out comfort that i expected.

A lovely friendly place to be. Great kind staff. Just a great place to lay your head.
