The breakfast is fresh and good choice. Rooms are clean and nice.

Superb welcome from the chap with the shaved head (sorry not caught your name), really friendly and helpful. Lovely venue, lots of art and personality. Comfortable room. Dog friendly. Breakfast and lunch available at a cost. Parking - free- on street outside. 5 min walk to the two Marine Parks and the beach. 20 min walk to South Shields metro. 25 to the ferry.

Really cheap last minute emergency stay. Totally fine but only for an emergency. Strange they made me pay for breakfast when I made the booking as b&b. On this review it confirmed it should have been free. Oh well!

I think it was down to my chronic pain why I felt the bed was a little uncomfortable. Amazing beautiful decor and staff attentive and helpful. Amazing gluten free breakfast far too much so next time I will ask for less. One of the best gluten free breakfasts Imo highly recommend

I loved the hotel - my room was clean, comfortable and well-furnished. The staff were very friendly and professional. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The room was relatively comfortable but street facing so I was kept awake by people racing motorbikes on a Saturday night on the street outside which wasn't great (this would be worse on a bit day if you needed to keep window open) The room was also very small, I literally couldn't open my suitcase which for the price wasn't great (though I appreciate it was Great north run weekend so prices are higher). Toilet was also very loud. On the plus side the staff were friendly, well located for great north run finish.

One night, two rooms that had everything we needed

Lovely place, unfortunately the room was very hot and didn’t get much sleep.

Good place to stay - small but comfortable. Pleasant stroll to the front.

Arrival was swift and easy, then shown to room in building next door, which wasn't a problem. Room 17 pretty small, small bathroom and sink in the bedroom. All looked clean and tidy apart from the seat at the desk and the information booklet which both need attention.

No lift but was helped in carrying my case up the stairs.

Lovely place to stay and near sea

Thankyou, I had the perfect night sleep, followed by a walk along the beach to watch the sunrise. Great location, peace and quiet all night and nice cool room

The room that we booked was not as advertised on the website, we chose a superior double as not too many stairs but the room we were given was another flight of stairs up. Had to phone the hotel number as no one available to talk to in person but in saying that was quickly resolved and a ground floor room was thankfully available. I mentioned website as also advertised a lounge/bar for guests but this apparently had not been open since Covid! Suggested website requires updating. Breakfast included was a continental only unless upgraded for £15pp for hot food. Continental was sufficient.

Great value if you pay under £100 with breakfast included - lovely staff and breakfast, fast wifi, comfy bed. Poor value at £189 per night room only.

Scott & Liz are fantastic hosts, going above and beyond for their guests. The hotel is conveniently located for all amenities. It’s beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was awesome.
